He just had the spursy of spursy bottlejobs, we’ve got enough of their ex players I don’t want more of that mentality installed

The Ajax squad was third-best, he had only one left winger for the first half of the season because two were sold without being replaced, their DoF refused to sign the players he wanted and demanded more attacking football, promised reinforcements in the summer but he didn't get any until the very end of the January window

The fact he had them challenging for the title at all is impressive

This would be ideal… Sage and Stuffing go hand in hand and that’s what we are getting next season.

If he comes with his assistants, Rosemary and Thyme, I'm all for it.

Needs to leave his mate 'and onion' where he is though as we don't need any more stuffings!

Would you believe in ww1 there were VC winners called Veale, Sage and Onions

I'd prefer Lee Parsley

Would be a very good appointment imo

So, we're linked to a guy who's just experienced mixed fortunes after a brief spell at a top Dutch side, and another chap who has barely been in charge of a team for a full season.

Why appoint either when, if you splice the credentials of one with the credentials of the other, you've to all intents and purposes got something that looks eerily similar to Ruud Van Nistelrooy?

Is this another case of 'I've not yet experienced first hand how crap they can be, and they sound a bit fancy, so let's get him in?!'

Couldn't agree more. Where's the love-in come from for some bloke that Ajax don't want and no-ones ever heard of? How's that any different to Ruud apart from the fact Ruud actually was highly thought of before he was appointed. Just stick with RvN going forward! Been of that opinion for ages and makes sense even more now to keep him on if he wants it. Beats the Cherries and gets MOTM

Annoying

See this is the kind of thing that happens when the incompetent clowns at the club fanny around, dont make a decision wait until June 30th due to PSR, then scramble around trying to install a manager before pre-season and then end up with someone like Martin who is even more dogshit than what we have now just with 6-9 months less knowledge! We will see manager after manager get snapped up whilst our lot are off horse racing.

He would have been a decent appointment but he's not really worth getting annoyed about.

Well it is if we spend ages dithering and miss all the decent options, thats my point the club needs to act quickly and decisively as soon as the season ends. If we are waiting around until the end of June thats going to be a huge error.

Guaranteed flop IMO. Pleased we've avoided him.

Agreed. He didn't do ought on France. Had a decent run unbeaten last season I think and done nothing since. Didn't change the club's position from a standard mid table side.

People just got carried away because he supposedly played champ manager and was an English man managing in France and could speak the language.. literally offered nothing else.

Bit harsh , he's only 32! lol in manager terms he's young! and he's not done too badly?

Agree that Still could be a gamble, but gambles sometimes pay off. Every great manager starts somewhere. It's obviously looking likely to be moot, but I can see why some would say we've missed an opportunity and others that we've dodged a bullet.

I'd argue Röhl is a safer bet as his career has been longer and he's worked with an even more inept board than ours in the same division. Probably plays the only way that would be successful if we were to be promoted too.

Regis Le Bris got relegated in France with Lorient, now taken Sunderland to the play-off final 🤷‍♂️

Still had Reims in the mix for European football twice. This season at Lens, he’s accumulated more points than Franck Haise did for them last season, but they are nowhere near the team they were two seasons ago.

Still has done solid enough jobs in France, no surprise he’s been linked with numerous Championship jobs, the only negative thing I’d say about him is that he loves a dip in form, which I could easily see happening if Southampton do appoint him.

I suspect the club are meeting/sounding out candidates and comparing their plans with RvN's.

If that's correct, I think that's a sensible approach - it's crucial they get it right. But if they're delaying because of FFP,  we've got big problems and shows the board haven't learned their lessons (which is probably more likely to be true!)
