I don't really get the love for Will Still, has he really done anything overly impressive other than be young?

Reims finished 12th the season before he took over, he took them to the dizzying heights of 11th in his first season and they were 11th when he left with a few games left of his second season, caretaker came in and took 7 points from 9 to move up to 9th.

Goes to Lens who have finished 7th, 2nd, 7th, 7th over the last 4 seasons and he has them in 9th with a negative goal difference.

His teams also don't score goals, 109 goals in 92 Ligue 1 games over Reims and Lens. 12th out of 18 for goals scored this season and their top scorer is on 6. 11th most goals last season with Reims and 13th most in 22/23.

rather have him that Dyche tbf

I like will still but I’d be worried he’d be the next in a long line that thinks they can get a tune out of soumare

maybe he can … but I don’t want to try and find out again. He’s broken my heart too many times

His Lens team gave us a footballing lesson in the friendly match before this season, and the more I read about him, the more I think he’d be a good fit.

We can only hope that this put him firmly on the club's radar and served as the ultimate preliminary interview.

Still has shown flexibility in terms of formations both at Reims and Lens. He played three at the back on a number of occasions for Reims, but his main formations were 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 which would suit us perfectly. At Lens he’s mainly played 3-4-2-1 or similar, there’s a good reason why he’s stuck mainly with that system because their previous manager Franck Haise played it.

If he adopted this kind of approach from his time at Reims, I think it would suit us after some transfer market tweaks.

He likes to encourage building from the back, but after watching Reims it didn’t feel like a total necessity. He likes to have at least one centre back with long passing range, at Reims it was either Agbadou or Okumu using that trait, mainly to exploit the pace of Ito, Nakamura, Daramy to get behind defences, of course this tactic would suit Fatawu and Mavididi perfectly. In midfield he had Matusiwa as the energetic holder, a very competent player at winning possession. Munetsi now at Wolves was used as a 8/10 box crasher. Teuma was the technical piece of the midfield. Up front in his first season he had Balogun, second season he had Diakite. Balogun was excellent at playing off the shoulder and getting in behind defences. Diakite was more on the physical side.

With a few changes to the midfield and the inevitable new striker, if Still produces this setup at Leicester, I think it would be suitable.

He’ll probably end up at Southampton though, so if any kind soul wants to post this on their forum, I’d be grateful lol

Guy is in a relationship with Sky’s Emma Saunders who worked for us and who has recently had a brain operation so hope all is ok .

anyone?

I do think he's got something about him. I'd not be upset if it was him.

I'd very much doubt Rudkin has heard of Will Still, so I'll be highly confident to say it isn't us. Not even in the slightest. Our board is not that competent

He has talent, is a fresh face with fresh ideas and comes with a setup he built, personally I wouldn't be against it at all.

But alas we have Rudkin. I bet it's Southampton , Hull (they're probably optimistic), WBA. We'll end up with Dull Dyche. .

Well they went for Enzo who was a unknown and tested at this level, bit of a risk.

Feel Still is in the same boat, bit of a risk but well worth it 👌

In some ways yes, but he was a Pep offspring. That's what the club wanted. But granted, it was a risk at the time considering he didn't have much time at his previous job.

But for them Will Still is a complete unknown entity to them, so I just don't see us going for him.

I'm happy to be processed wrong and they also give him the power to bring in a proper backroom staff. But I still don't think it's us in any shape

Will Still would be an interesting option. I just think the board are going to stick with Ruud though 😔

Ruud is the lazy, safe psr option. So I can see this happening.

But this isn't the right call. It's stale, it's toxic we need to freshen it up a bit. Board level first.

What is the level of French football like ?

Is the Championship a harder league ?

A haven for promising young players but PSG dominate for the most part and the asymmetrical TV rights there mean a lot of Ligue 1 clubs are brassic.

Still would be very aware of players who would transform the club. I'd want him here.

Lille won the league with Soumare in midfield

The article talks about him wanting to come back to the UK, to be with his partner. Does anyone know where she lives (I guess, London, if she is / was with Sky)? That could be important - nearer Leicester, or Southampton.

Watford or North London I think (she was in Hospital there). She's a Watford girl and a lifelong Hornets fan. So closer to us than Southampton.

Strasbourg finished 7th in ligue 1.
Did they qualify for Europe next season?
Just thinking if there’s any possibility of getting Roseinor. I know he signed a contract extension with them.
