He's got more upside than a lot of options we've been linked with. I don’t buy that that Middlesbrough team is average. Player and potential wise, they should’ve been top 6 regulars in the time he was there. Maybe with better players he could push a team into promotion contention but he’s no McKenna for example. 1

Looked to me as though the squad was not deep enough to compete This is exactly what we were all saying about RVN   First thing that I thought when I seen he got the bullet was there goes Danny Rohl rather than I’d take Carrick 🤦🏼‍♂️
two8two Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 Carrick is free to start, has a decent record and his staff are all available. We could be accidentally ending up with a class manager. I rate him as does my mate who is a lifelong Boro fan.
winteriscoming Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 Middlesbrough have gotten worse under Carrick. That’s why they’ve got rid. I don’t want him. 1

Careful with that shortlist, Rudkin can't read as you well know. He'll be up the graveyard with a shovel to sign our new Academy manager. 5
fox_favourite Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 Carrick is a no no. He got sacked by Middlesbrough for a reason. We are better than that. 4

fox_favourite Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 Fed up of ex players getting gigs because they were top players. Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, RvN, Granny lover etc...how many have been a success at where they've been?  Grinds me gears 1

Famously the reason we never got to see Jarod Bowen play for Leicester is because JR didn't like his attitude at the time. Yet he puts up with attitudes like Eduoard, Soumare, Vestaguard and co

Dyche is atleast a proven stability manager who has had success in the championship on a shoe string budget. Probably almost guarantees promotion and staying in the premier league after.  I understand some Leicester fans don't like his football and want a gamble with a possibility of just reaching the playoffs but there is a huge difference in those 2 managers.  One guarantees promotion The other guarantees missing out on the playoffs season after season after season

A generation of brighter. more tactically-savvy managers have emerged and Dyche's brand of football has become obsolete. Not only would the football be execrable under him, it wouldn't be successful either. 1

I don’t think he’s the right fit for us but he’s probably got a good management career ahead even if he has to take a lower end Championship gig or L1.  Lampard also is showing now as Cov than his good jobs have outweighed any bad.  The others totally agree.

I mean even karanka while ended up paying off probably got more time than he should’ve and they probably should’ve got promoted before they did Massively overrated owner regarding everything else though  Boro have underachieved massively the past 15 years or so given the money they’ve spent and squads they’ve had at championship levelÂ
