Who has been the worst signing, since the Premier League title?

The Bertrand and Vestergaard signing because you Could see it coming a mile off.  

 

What?  Were signing half of the second worst defence in the league from perennial strugglers Southampton when we are chasing champions league qualification?  The defence we put nine past?  Right-o.  What could possibly go wrong?

But for me Ward is the worse signing. If we blame one player for relegation then it’s him. I would also nominate Vestergaard just for being so shit. Transfer fee and wages we spent on his is a disgrace.

Can't be arsed to read all of the thread to see if he's been mentioned but the shitest for me was Ahmed Musa. Seeing him in the cup away at Sheffield United was the worst individual footballing display I've ever seen.

I’d rather have slimani than daka that’s not debatable, he was more wrong player at the wrong time.  And he was never going to challenge vardy. 
 

For me it’s between musa and coady. Musa because it was the greatest opportunity for us to sign real talent and he looked like Danny nguessian. 
 

The coady deal however, just never makes sense. Had a clause for 2 mill at Everton that they didn’t want. Was completely unwanted and we paid actual cash for him and he’s literally done nothing. 4 mill in the championship is more than 8 mill in the prem for ayew and ayew at least got a couple of important goals. not sure coady has earnt us a single point

I'm not giving Rodgers credit for Tielemans, so let's look at the other three. 

 

Castagne?  Ho hum at best.  Inadequate Chilwell replacement and part of our relegation team. 

 

Justin?  Terrible. 

 

Fofana?  Actually a terrible signing in hindsight.  Left us in the lurch twice.  Once through no fault of his own which led to us buying Vestergaard as a replacement and then downed tools the following year to join Chelsea leading to us buying out Faes.   When you take off St etiennes sell on fee, we made no money on him after wasting £30m on those aforementioned clowns. 

 

I'm not blaming our terrible recruitment on Fofana, I'm just saying that it didn't work out very well for us regardless of how good a player he was himself.

Justin was excellent pre injury. £10m is next to nothing these days too. He is far from “terrible”. 
 

Castagne was okay as well. As I recall at the time people were saying he was better than Chilwell. Being part of a relegated team means **** all too, Vardy, Izzet and Elliott were all part of relegated teams on more than one occasion.

It's got to be a joint first place between Soumare and Daka. 

 

Both bought in for large amounts. Supposed to take us to the next level. 

 

Soumare I hate with a passion. He's just lazy. Daka at least tries but is a woeful footballer.

Until that point we'd been doing pretty well at CB. Huth left Maguire came in. Maguire left Fofana in. Then Faes replaced Fofana.

 

There's arguments for Slimani, Bertrand etc but pound for pound he's an absolute downgrade and a total liability. Haven't won at home since he came back in after New Year.

As awful as he was, he does have the honour of being the only player I've ever seen score live after singing 'If (X) scores, we're on the pitch'.

 

Took him about three slices of the ball before he bundled it in, and there was no invasion. A shitshow all round.

My pick is Ryan Bertrand. I don’t think I have ever seen such a waste of a shirt who clearly came here to consolidate his pension pot. Absolute melt.

 

Edit. In truth, the list is so long you could pick Daka, Soumare, Faes, Coady, Musa, Silva, etc. and you wouldn’t be wrong.
