I think Harry Winks also has two relegations in his last two top flight seasons, courtesy of Sampdoria.

Some of the characters mentioned here do seem a bit like the sorts of players who might 'attract' relegation, to say the least.

Luke Thomas is now a 3 relegation player in consecutive seasons thanks to his loan to Sheffield United. Can't be that many players who've managed to achieve that.

Nigel Quashie comes to mind given how many relegations he had. Not sure how many were consecutive.

I said this in another thread but I think ex-United player Fabio also achieved 3 consecutive relegations with 'Boro, Cardiff and QPR. Pretty impressive stuff.

None of them a patch on Hermann Hreidarsson, who had 5.

Wikipedia says he's a manager now. Sounds like he's got everything Rudkin and Top are looking for lol Very "experienced".

This season is going to be a stark contrast to last time. Last time we were in it until the final day and even won the last game.

This time we just get battered every week. I think anyone involved will struggle to shake that off straight away.

If you look at Luton they have a fairly good account of themselves in the prem in the first half but the end of the campaign was miserable… they never managed to pick themselves up again, players like Doughty and Morris looked like shadows of themselves.  The motivation to get promoted sometimes drains from you when you’ve realised you’re not good enough to be there.

My biggest request for ruud right now, would be to not play Ricardo. We just don’t need to risk him and he has nothing to gain from it. I think he may have even got injured at the weekend but I’m not paying close enough attention.

play woyo, play kids that need experience. Give Vardy every minute.

Theres no point having Bilal do his ACL in a meaningless game at the end of a season

Ndidi has been one of our better players this season. He's always been committed, played well last year and has been dragged down by those around him.

If he was to leave in the summer then I'd wish him well. 300 appearances, FA cup, Championship and Community Shield winner, a near-constant in our best ever era and a player we won't know how badly we'll miss him until he's gone.

He was one of the worst players on the pitch on Saturday. Very lucky not to be hooked at half time alongside Bouba. I think he’s been generally poor this season but he was certainly a vital player during our European campaigns and was for a good period a statistical freak when it came to winning the ball and breaking up play. Miles better than almost anyone else in the prem. A combination of injuries and time have reduced his ability and football has changed -  It’s no longer good enough just to be a destroyer. I think it’s time for him to move on and I’ll certainly remember the original Ndidi who filled the giant whole Kante left so valiantly for a long time.

Didn’t he also do it with 5 different clubs? Making it even more spectacular?

He’s been living off past glories for a couple of seasons now. Utterly hopeless this season

We sorely missed him when he was first injured and probably our best player under Cooper after Buonanotte.

He was also pretty good last season in a much changed role.

What the hell kind of statistic is that? Does it reflect on him in any way? He was an FA Cup winning player as well. It's not an achievement - takes a poor squad, poor manager and  poor club management to "achieve" that. He was screwed over by Rodgers' temperamental fall-out with the club and the club's failure to act.

Of course, Luke became the personal scapegoat for a number of posters on here, but Madders, Evans, KDH, Vardy (even) Ward, Faes, Vestergaard, Castagne, Daka, Winks and uncle Tom Cobley have all been labelled as 'unwanted' on here by someone or other. The squad needs a total overhaul and Thomas is one of the lads to keep.

I partly think the opposite, I don't think enough of our fanbase truly appreciate just how important good man-management is and how devastating bad man-management can be.

It's not entirely an excuse but I do think dismissing all those players as lazy or not caring is over the top.

I can well see JJ, Soumaré, Daka and Faes in particular going to other clubs and having careers that will frustrate Leicester fans. Think Tielemans is another good example of this, he's thriving at Villa under proper leadership. Rodgers just did so much damage to the psyche of this squad and a lot of them never properly got much self belief back. You could see it in Daka last year, first bad game and he fell straight back off a cliff.

That said, there's also a point to be made here about the mental fortitude it takes to be an elite athlete and why Rodgers' philosophy of signing "broken players" was completely daft. Pearson would never have allowed us to build a squad of such delicate wall flowers without any real leadership.

This is one of the most perceptive an accurate posts that's been made - especially appropriate to one of the major fvck-ups in allowing Rodgers to hang on way past his manage-by date. This idea of 'bad players' at Prem level is laughable. To get anywhere near this level requires almost superhuman skill, strength, determination and persistence - especially when injury intervenes.

Lack of self-belief and confidence in fellow players and a succession of ineffective managers has led to this shambles. The squad and club needs a complete makeover.

You’re right. There is absolutely going to be a hangover from this season. Not just for the players but as fans.

If we strike it lucky and get a proper leader in, there might be some hope but the reality is, it’s been so poorly run that it will be a situation where a good manager, with a good record will struggle here.

No way you just bounce back from this

For me the 'much changed role' is what satarted the issues with him. Enzo clearly told him he could actually play ball when he really can't. He gets further up the pitch but his output further up the pitch is appalling. Playing alongside that fridge every week also can't help. He needs to be a ball winner alongside someone with a brain and desire. He simply doesn't have that with us.
