My friend is a huge Wednesday fan. She told me his football is a little bit Jurgen Klopp, high press, quite aggressive , not pass pass pass boring stuff, but quite good to watch. One watch out she did say is, his defensive record isnt great. 4th worst in the league after the 3 relegated teams? Likes to play out from the back as well

So Rock & Rohl football then?

Off...I...fvck

Just to be pedantic as someone with a German mother... the umlaut over the "o" in his name means it should be pronounced more like "Rurl" than "Roll". Soz to fcuk up the "roll with it" type gags

They conceded 3 a lot and over the full season were inconsistent. At the end of the day the home form let them down.

I do feel people are overselling him. I get the excitement of getting a manager from another team but I'm not 100% sold.

Last season, the circumstances at Wednesday were awful. He had players not being paid in March and the usual pile of injuries. Cold showers, no board, awful facilities, useless squad. His first season was really successful in difficult circumstances also. I think he could do really well for us

Not too worried about this with the players he'll have compared to those at Sheff Wednesday. I think it'll be similar to to 23/24, where we'll dominate possession in many games and the defence won't be overly stretched. Not saying there won't be an issue if we are fortunate enough to go straight back up, but short term, I'd be happy with the style of football he'd try to play.

To honest neither am I but with the situation we are in we aren’t going to get one that everyone is sold on. He’s probably the best candidate out there for us at the moment.

Yep, best mate is a lifelong owl, so we have almost adopted eachothers teams as our "2nd team" and this is why I've been completely insufferable for about 4 months on here and why I think he's one of the most exciting young managers in Europe.
He's very much in the school of heavy metal German style football, you can see from his Wednesday team that he is atleast attempting to bring some of the Red Bull philosophy to them that he learned under Ralf Rangnick, Hansi Flick, and Hassenhuttl, albeit with poorer players.

The strongest players in our team would benefit from that system.

There are definitely question marks, I've said on this thread that Rohls behaviour in the last couple of months has been unacceptable, and does offer concern given how poorly we are run at times, so whether he would get lied to and then fed up and start acting the same way here is a gamble for sure, Wednesday have been awful since mid January, but given what has come out since January where Chansiri was telling fans if they wanted him to sell, he would, telling fans he's not going to repay the loans and the fans need to crowdfund the money and take responsibility if they want him out so much, his admission at the end of the January window that he had not even spoken to DR about signings, then the failure to make wage payments, the year on year delayed tax payments and threat of sanction etc, I think there is a fair case to understand why the form has collapsed, but that is just correlation at this point. It could just be that Rohl was getting it wrong, but we will have to wait and see.

His behaviour recently did concern me for sure, I can see a scenario where he is being lied to by us and he ends up on another escape mission, but I'd like to think the first period of his stint gives him some credit in the bank, as we are nowhere near the circus that SWFC are.

Yeah not to worry.

That Wednesday squad during both the seasons he’s been there has been awful.

They were a bottom 3 squad 23/24 and not much better this season.

Pound for pound he has done a stellar job there.

They had a better squad than Huddersfield, Plymouth and Rotherham. How Wednesday stayed up that season was incredible, mind.

For sure the club will end up pissing him off because our board are incompetent. Every manager gets ****ed off eventually.

Hopefully they can avoid doing this within the next 12 months as he just needs to get us promoted.
