He's not a Championship level keeper though. I dont buy that argument. Lets just say and hypothetically speaking here. Man City get relegated, or any other clubs of that calibre get relegated let's go with the ffp stuff for now. Those players values dont drop just because theyre a Championship player all of a sudden do they? Why would it be the same for this?
MPH Posted 7 August 2025 Author Posted 7 August 2025 We got relegated, we’re desperate for money. He’s just recovered from quite a bad injury.. Need to take the blue tinted specs off and look at it how other teams may look at it.. 2

We have been because out squad (that contained Mads) werent good enough. A lot of us rate Mads highly. But the market looks at things differently. Lets wait for official info, but i was never buying 20-25million valuations given on this forum.

Thats why I said hypothetically speaking. You get the point? Also with the money been spent on bang average keepers so far this season. £25m is good value for someone like Mads. If it is true and we've let him go for that then we're stupid.

MPH Posted 7 August 2025 Author Posted 7 August 2025 (edited) Maybe some dodgy PSR fiddle going on in a surprise 2nd part of the deal? Edited 7 August 2025 by MPH
AjcW Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Imagine this has been in the works for quite some time, they already appear to be living in London anyway. (probably down to his partner being about to have a baby and wanting to settle before a move).

Even being associated with one imparts a tax.
AjcW Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 I'm usually the first to kick off about transfer fees, but there's a lot at play here. Signed for £7m, that's a good profit no? He has no Denmark cap yet, someone mention Petkovic as a comparrison, he's off the back of a brilliant season in France for a team that overperformed, he also has caps for Serbia. Also from a Bournemouth point of view, Chelsea know they've made £200m this season... they could have asked for £35m if they wanted! There's also the uncertainty around Mads fitness. I'm not really sure we could have got much more and we NEED money to allow us to build again.

LestaLad Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 @ExWHUEmployee reporting that a deal is close to being agreed for him.. I really hope it’s a good fee and not this £16m I’ve seen in here.

Popular Post Richmondfox Posted 7 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 7 August 2025 Another very good young player with plenty of growth we have to let go due to the donkeys at club. 9
Number 6 Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Would have liked a little more money as I think he is worth more, but I think business we've done elsewhere has allowed us to take a little less here. We've had a pretty sensible window overall.
kingpowerout Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 If it's £16m + around £5m realistic addons then not the end of the world
AjcW Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Finding it weird trying to be the voice of reason (given my usual shtick!) Struggling to see how £7m into £16m (which will be plus add ons) isn't a good deal for someone who was involved in an horrific PL season (full of his own mistakes too....) and has had more injuries than some keepers get in their entire career.... 2
MGLCFC Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 (edited) It will be an undisclosed fee - so we'll all still be guessing Edited 7 August 2025 by MGLCFC

Its more than Liverpool got for Kelleher, so the deal isn't anywhere near as bad as its getting made out to be.
FoxFossil Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Anyone any good at WHU that we'd take as the usual London club PSR fiddle??

For me, while it is good for the accounts, it's also one less good player in a team. Hopefully the keepers we have can improve so we don't have to shell out again or make do with an inadequate keeper if we get back to the Prem.
