Honestly im not in the slightest bit bothered. Always thought he was just a good keeper. Nothing special. Then after his injury he has never looked like a world beater. Might be a little harsh but quite happy to get some money in for him and happy to go with Stolarcyzk and Begovic.

Whatever helps us with this financial mess

Absolute bargain.

I sincerely hope there's a profit sell on clause included, and a hefty one at that if the initial fee is that low.

Should be pushing £30m as a minimum I'd have thought.

No doubt Rudkin included some kind of clause like West Ham to win the Champions League and we get £50m

£18 million if true is a crap deal. We were talking about £40 million a year ago lol

Probably a bit optimistic.

That was bollocks then as well. People loose all sense of perspective. 18m is decent, not great, not bad, just meh.

deal structure more important. Hermanson needed to resolve any psr issues we had being relegated so as long as its front loaded to be paid this year, 18 mil is a good deal

Keepers don’t go that high, especially those who aren’t English and have not blown the doors off. Get a grip.

Someone once wrote he should be a 40million keeper.  Therefore - he should be!

You get a grip. We should be getting 40 mil for him now, after one PL season where he spent a lot of it injured and leaked a lot of goals.

Love Mads - lovely bloke. Met him a few times at the ground. He will go to the top. But i think 18m is actually about right - prob favours West Ham but we have to sell.

Mixed emotions on this one.

Fee slightly lower than I was hoping for, unless add ons are involved. Also going to a mid table Premier League team stings a bit.

With Potter being West Ham’s manager though, it’s a move that unfortunately makes sense.

Hopefully these funds help get a striker and central midfielder through the door.

As for the goalkeeper situation itself, I said on here a few days ago that Mads leaving this week, would give us the perfect window to assess Stolarczyk and see if he’s a worthy number 1 from a distribution standpoint.

Yeah it was "selling to Chelsea price tag"

Quite, we all know that it was 40m if he was from Husbands Bosworth, but he was from Daneland though, 18m is his ceiling.

Considering Mads was considered our most saleable asset in terms of value, the fact were getting just £18m shows how far we've dropped in such a short space of time.

If this deal helps us get on the right side of PSR then I don't mind too much. Happy enough with Jakub as no1 for this season.

Good keeper for us but not that bothered about him going

Stol is more then competant enough to be no 1, I probably rate him as a better shot stopper then Mads

Hope he goes on to do well, would have liked him to have gone for more, but its good to see us not just standing still, shows some wheels behind the scenes are in motion

Would have liked a bit more but when you consider that Trafford went for £27m and he’s considered a bigger talent, been bought from a PL club and English tax too we’ve probably ended up receiving market value for Mads.

So frustrating that we're letting one of the only players worth any money go on the cheap because Top and Co have cocked it up so badly over the last few years.
