I still think Mads will get sold before the window closes.

It was way back in mid-June via Rob Dorset and not long after he signed a new contract (in which case the bid probably came before he had signed that deal).

The Victor John deal is very close to being agreed. The transfer terms are almost there and it’s just how the fee will be paid – in terms of break down of instalments. The personal terms are said to be close as well.

HOWEVER It is thought that then recruitment team want us to try one more time to try and get a deal with Leicester for Mada Hermansen even though the offer we made and what Leicester want were quite far apart.

Another interesting twist is that the top source wouldn’t confirm today that Victor John was on his way. When asked whether it was true that the Brazilian keeper was a "Done Deal", the top source replied "I can’t comment on what may or may not happen. We are trying on all fronts!"

We have also heard from another source that talks have infact continued with Leicester and that there has been positive progress with the deal so there could be another twist of events. There are also a couple of other keeper targets that could be explored too.

Maybe the Ndidi and Coady deals mean we can take a small hit with the amount we'd want for Mads

Very interesting… wonder if Mads playing 90 minutes on Sunday will have allayed some of WHU’s concerns. Also hopefully if they have returned to the table their offer is now closer to our asking price…

Guy I know who supports West Ham messaged me to tell me he's heard we've dropped our asking price from £25m to closer to £20m. 

 

It seems the Victor John thing may have been a ploy to get us to drop our asking price.

 

This would be pretty consistent with the info above.

Wonder if we compromise and agree £22.5m up front rising to £25m including add ons, rather than £25m up front plus add ons.

Be sad to see him go of course. But in the grand scheme of things it’s not a massive blow. Stolarczyk proved he was more than capable last season and we’ll be getting good money for Hermansen which will help us massively with PSR plus giving us some funds for positions we are more in need of.
