Watched your stream last night Strider, an intriguing and much needed discussion.

Regarding long term vision and recruitment in your upcoming video, hopefully you delve a bit into Sunderland’s model, with the talents we have coming through, going down a Sunderland type route is exactly what Leicester City need right now imo.

A bit of shameless self promotion here, this is important to me, so I wanted to create a thread for it, which I hope is OK.

Our great club has truly fallen away in recent years, and many of us have never felt so disconnected. There are many, many issues for why this is, so I wanted to outline what some of those things are, and offer some suggestions on how we could fix them:

In this part we discuss the Culture and Organisation of the club, both of which leave a lot to be desired.

For those of you that can't watch, the TL;DR is:

  • The culture of ignoring fans, hiding information and avoiding accountability needs to change. Clubs on the rise, e.g. Wrexham understand this and it's producing results.
  • Changes should be made at the Sporting Director level of the club to bring in someone with experience in building a winning culture where everyone from fans to players feel like they are pulling in the same direction. Nigel Pearson is my suggestion for the person to come in for that role, but there are others that could be suggested.

If you've got time to watch the video, or just listen to it in the background, I'd love to know what you think. It is difficult to think sweeping changes would be made at the club, but when clubs who put such practices into place start surpassing you, at some point even changes at the Top (pun intended) can take place.

I watched the stream yesterday and agreed with pretty much everything you said. I would love changes like these to take place but I think we all know the chairman is not capable of making big decisions like these. He simply doesn't have it in him. For that reason, I think he himself is now the problem not Rudkin. It was a similar feeling towards the end of Brendan Rodgers' tenure - the feeling was that he should've been sacked ages ago and the problem were the people who kept him in his job. It is the exact same thing here - by the chairman keeping Rudkin in his job, he himself is now the problem.

The most significant part of the problem is many of the same people who built our championship team are still on the board and in c-suite positions within the club. They believe that past success will be indicative of future success.

I have not had a chance to watch yet but I’m looking forward to it when I have some time later. Thanks as always for this!

(maybe they can hire you to replace Rudkin! Not sure you’d want the job though…😂😂)

I hate to be a doomer but I agree with you here. There's a very real possibility that the following happens:

- Points deduction for 25/26 means no promotion.

- Leeds and Burnley return to the Championship in 26/27, and other clubs that are willing to spend like Wrexham and Birmingham get on the act to force us into the playoffs, missing out on promotion again.

- Parachute payments run out, and we are just another Stoke / Norwich / Watford.

And at that point, it could be a decade or more in the Championship.

I don't see a leader in any area of the club.

Leadership starts from Top and flows down into every facet, the club doesn't appear aligned internally and it sure as hell isn't aligned with the fans.

A huge shift in mentality at board level is required, that likely means a new board...

Get a filthy rich gulf prince to buy us.

Money is not the problem,  KP hasplenty of Money.   It's the stupid unfair psr rules which keeps the smaller Clubs in their place while the big clubs can do what they like.

You spelt “we have idiots offering out stupid contracts to shit players we don’t need” wrong.

Nothing to be said or to discuss is there.

Top either needs to have a lightbulb moment - and either gets in the right people or sells.

Or we carry on bumbling along.

Note: It's quite possible that he gets in a half decent manager, we sign a couple of decent players and get promoted - without Top doing the aforementioned. But it will be followed by more dross.

Our problems are basic/core - this is not a tinker, small strategic shift, stuff.

Exactly it does not matter how much the owner has to spend the anti competitive corrupt PSR rules are designed to stop anyone breaking the new protective ceiling. Wrexham and others will run into this. The new so called independent regulator if they were anyone decent would come in and smash the current cartel. Will it happen no because the cartel and broadcasters have a cozy alliance they will protect. We have issues but have nowhere to go in the current system our success in 2016 ensured that no one will ever be allowed to repeat it. Forest tried this year but fell short as have Villa. Villa might aspire but it’s all about the revenue you can generate. If Leicester could fill a 50000 seater stadium week in week out you stand a chance otherwise forget it.

Nothing changes until those in positions of power are moved on.

They have to be replaced with high quality candidates though, and who at the club is actually able to make an informed decision about that?

This is very true leadership off the pitch is equally as important as on the pitch ... s manager who commands respect ... the fans are the lifeblood of any club and once you lose them it's all down hill ... empty stands ... no interest .... I have followed this club for 50+ years ... through thick ... thin and thinner ...  Top listen to the voice of the fans and it will reward you and importantly gain you respect

Most clubs are managing with PSR! Leicester are not - the reason? Aiyawatt and Rudkin are incompetent and wreckless... Imagine having a magnifying glass on you for PSR and then giving Coady and Winks nearly 100k per week in the Championship.

If Coady Winks and Vestergaard and others do not have clauses in their contracts to reduce salaries after relegation ... then what's the point ... I'm sure there will be bonuses if we qualified for Europe or progressed in cup ... its goes well beyond incompetent
