Finally Starmer allowing himself to mention the B word again and hammering Farage by pointing out the obvious that the Brexit Farage brought about is the reason we can’t return asylum seekers to other European countries

I'd argue that the majority of people in the centre of the Brexit Voter / Reform Voter venn diagram have absolutely no idea of it's repercussions, nor do they care.

Starmer won't win anyone over with this tactic.

I agree. However he absolutely needs to win back the 25-30% of the country who now say they’ll vote Green or LibDem and overwhelmingly hated Brexit. I think it’s more aimed at them.

I thought Starmer's speech at the Labour conference was the best he's sounded in a long while

I guess its an easier audience than PMQs or equivalent where he gets himself tied a bit.

Well I'm just defending the post I wrote because apparently I am making it all up, trolling or projecting my desires according to which poster on here you believe. I'm just going off what is being widely reported.

I see that govt has won its case against PPE medpro and awarded £122m damages.

I also see that PPE medpro has been placed into administration

the case was brought in 2022 - company accounts at that time showed assets of the business to be just below £4m.  What was the point of bringing this case ?  At the very most it could recover that amount and it would be obvious that any case would take years and that funds in the company would dwindle away.  We must have spent millions obtaining a ruling that is worth bugger all.   Govt is ludicrous- no commerciality whatsoever.  Just spending our money like it’s water.

Yay! More unemployment!

Wonder how much lawyers made from this?

Send AI home?

Edit: Having just written that, it's weird that you never see protests about this. I do think that people are in awe of this "magic" and it makes life easier... Even if it's costing their jobs.

I'd love to ban AI, it's going to ruin society in so many ways (it already has for some people/industries). Most people blissfully unaware still, and we're far too late to stop it now.

Mone's a crook and her peerage should be revoked.

It was her husband. She’s guilty of nothing criminal and even he isn’t as a shareholder. He wasn’t even listed as a director.  Can’t revoke a peerage on that basis.

I've seen bits. Utterly bizarre.

The absolute silence at the end was kinda amusing.

Indeed. You can't put the snake back inside the box.

The electorate being less dissatisfied with Truss than Sunak and Starmer proves we don't live in a serious country.
