It's really not an extreme negative. 38yo free agent, highly doubt money is an issue, highly doubt we have to promote ourselves as a club/project and highly doubt we had to do the usual due diligence to know whether he could do the job we expect of him, which probably includes never stepping on the pitch for us if all things go to plan. 

 

Perhaps we've not been in talks for six weeks just because that's when the first links appeared, but even half that and it's still far too long to be dealing with this.

Knee jerk reaction is this is pretty awful.

 

But, tbf, he's not going to be first choice is he? It almost certainly means we're selling Mads, which we knew, to make some money for incomings, which we knew, and we get to replace Mads for (more or less) free. And for once we're only offering a one year deal.

 

It's literally just very cheap cover and shows we're putting our faith in Stol which is nice.

 

Not much to moan about. Now lets just get Mads out ASAP so we can start building.

It might actually be 3rd choice signing. Not many clubs only have two recognised senior keepers and I don't think any of the academy keepers are ready yet to be considered.

Yeah possible. But I don't see how else we're making enough money to sign anyone and we're desperate for - at very least - a striker.

Honestly, this is about as useful as signing Alex Smithies who didn't play. Literally no point to this unless we have no other options available.

I'm curious, what do you think made that your knee jerk reaction? If he was coming here as a starter then absolutely, but otherwise...my brain just went straight to everything else you mentioned. Perhaps I just can't bring myself to even contemplate that we'd sign him as first choice though

Never understood the 3 senior keepers thing, especially as it is a position you can use an emergency loan on if 2 injuries occur at same time. Begovic will be coming as number 2. Bauser 3rd choice in my opinion. Hermansen out the door.
