Get 30m for him and stick in a 20m bid for Hayden Hackney

Ha, you're dreaming mate.  Not only is £20mill flat not enough but he's turned down a move to Ipswich already as he's obviously waiting on a Prem move.

Hackney won’t come here, if we did get serious money I would personally bid for Josh Sargent at Norwich he’s our 20 plus a goal striker at this level easily.

With it being a loan that doesn't give them the cash to do it now though. Can they get a (financial) loan in to cover that's PSR compliant?

Or are they minted regardless?

Depends on the loan fee. That would be the money they could use towards the signing.

A £5m loan fee gives you £25m towards a five year signing, for example.

21m then.

We're the LCFC Big Dogs, completely different proposition to Ipswich.

The £20mill bid was apparently accepted but the player didn't want the move.  At the time nobody had kicked a ball, so in terms of proposition many had Ipswich as the more likely to return to the Premier League.  Irrespective of that it looks pretty clear he's waiting on Premier League interest, and there's since been talk that Wolves have put an offer of £20mill rising to £30mill with easily attainable add ons.

It's also kicking about that since selling Azaz and with so little time left in the window that Boro will not entertain offers for Hackney and he'll be staying.

I'd love him here.  I wanted him and Lennon Miller in to revamp our midfield, unfortunately one ships sailed and the other has a different destination.

Don't see what's in it for a buying club to do a loan with obligation where the loan fee is the same or more than the amortised obligation fee over the contract of the player.

Proabably just cash flow.  That way you only stump up £5mill in the first instance rather than whatever sum the selling club wants as a first installment of the total fee.

often wondered that

assume it could be cash flow if the initial instalment is more than the loan fee.  I think it happens if both clubs can manipulate the numbers to be better for them than a straight sale. It must benefit someone or it wouldn’t be done like this.  Of course some of the wealthy clubs don’t sail close to psr/ffp winds so it doesn’t matter to them.

If I could hand pick two players from the championship to go into our starting 11 they'd be Gus Hamer and Josh Sargent. I think they'd give us everything to go onto win this league. Neither will happen though obviously.

Whis never scored 20 league goals in a season

Injures are the only thing that have stopped him tbf. He scored 16 in 26 games two seasons ago. Would have easily topped 25 if he had the whole season.

That will be negotiated up to £30m with add ons and a sell on and it's done.

what I was thinking, if we can get £30mil guaranteed with the sell on as well then fine

but theyve just got £65mil for Woltemade

This is like when Mahrez was being linked with Roma. Just stay for another season, do well, and potentially get a much bigger move for yourself.

I’m hearing that Peter O’Rourke understands Stuttgart have submitted an £26million bid to sign Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss.

Probably be undisclosed again

if they agree to put extra add ons in to make it a 30 m deal (which are impossible to achieve) then it could be announced as a 30m deal but it will still really be 26m achievable max.  We could only end up with 23/24m total,
