The encouraging aspect for me is that Marti seems to be on the same page in terms of what the issues have been within the opening 8 games, relating to both the players and his own management. So he still retains my support at this stage and the problems at this club go far beyond the manager in charge. Tuesday's performance was another example of this.

Just a reminder as well that although the current squad is good for this level, it isn't as strong as it was in 23/24. No Hermansen, Justin, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall or Vardy this time round. The absence of goal contributions from the latter two will continue to be felt, unless other players can step up this season.

Seriously? Serious seriously? :jawdrop:

I could name a couple of teams worth of Leicester players better than our current team, who have played for us at this level.

In fact, I'm going to...

Kasper Schmeichal

Tim Flowers

Mark Wallington

Bruno Berner

Matt Elliot

Marcin Wasilewski

Wes Morgan

Alexsander Tunchev

Miguel Victor

Gerry Taggert

Steve Walsh

Pontus Kaamark

Muzzy Izzet

Neil Lennon

Danny Drinkwater

Riyad Mahrez

Andy King

Yuki Abe

Garry Parker

Gary McAllister

Jamie Vardy

David Nugent

Yakubu

Emile Healey

Iwan Roberts

Gary Lineker

Alan Smith

Steve Claridge

All of the above played for us in the 2nd tier & would walk into our current team at the expense of any player except Ricky P, Fatawu and possibly Monga (still early days).

And that's not even counting players from other teams such as Gareth Bale, Ian Harte, Wilfried Zaha and Alexsander Mitrovic, to name but a few.

So how you can say that our current squad contains 5 of the greatest players to play in this league is mind-blowing! Our squad is bang average and on par with many of the teams in this league.

Some great names on that list i would

add Tommy Wright, Andy Peake and although only a loan Kevin Campbell.

We may not have those players but this time around we have Kristiansen, Reid, Okoli, Ayew, Skipp and Soumare.... 😀

Big improvement today, I enjoyed watching a fair bit of that game and we were comfortably the better team.
Hopefully Marti can find a solution that gives the striker more space centrally as they are still often compacted into spaces where they get the ball and have basically no options or are surrounded by players, they tend to play as a False 9 at the moment with their back to goal.

We need to figure out the central area because at present we still rely too much on magic from a wide player cutting in.

3rd and improving.

I agree he should be given a chance this season at some point.

i more think we’d be better off with an actual target man

Was only semi serious but I don’t see any striker scoring 10 for us this season.

He should get a chance eventually

I think the same with page, once there’s an injury or two which will happen; they’ll get a chance. Think next season they’ll have a better chance with us or going out on loan when they are a little more physically developed

The next two weeks are quite important for him. James and Winks have had a couple of games together and look good. Ramsey back. Daka with a few games under his belt. It’s still stop start and getting us to flow will make us one of the faves for the league or at least the autos.

I still think it’s a big month for him. He absolutely needed to win today as without it, I think the pressure would’ve been on - it’s modern football. Now get them playing and dominating games - he has the players for it.

Ipswich and Southampton are very clear evidence that this league isn’t as easy as it looks. I think everyone accepted they had a leg up on us this year. So sub par performances or not, we are doing better than most expected.  We have room for improvement and I think that will come but Marti’s biggest problem is the fact we’ve not competently replaced vardy and that’s not on him.

Give your head a wobble mate we won 3-1 and are 3rd you are the bedwetter!

Literally our last 3 goals conceded have been from individual errors from our CB pairing, neither of which are good enough if we get promoted and neither of which have any long term future at the club, it's a complete waste of time to be playing them every week over Nelson and Okoli when they are actively costing us games anyway and there is no longer term upside

It might not have cost us points today but these mistakes have cost us points in each of the last 2 games

Just because we won it doesn't mean the issues disappear does it, it's the happy clappers like you that are why we are on the downslide we are, 3 points and all of a sudden you forget the bigger issues at the club, it's the absolute definition of papering over the cracks

We are third because the quality in the league is absolutely abysmal, not because we are playing well

They are, which is why continuing to play the CB pairing that is actively costing us points is a dreadful managerial decision regardless of getting bailed out today

Last 2 games we have dropped 4 points from individual mistakes from them, yet Nelson and Okoli have been banished for a poor 45 minutes in the cup
