Pleasantly surprised. Hard to tell how good the opposition were but the comparisons with Maresca seemed well wide of the mark. Far more direct and looking for crosses at every opportunity.

Championship you can afford to go balls out attack and score a bucket load. You're going to concede alot but you roll with it. Premier League you'd just get annihilated

Thought Page looked as good as Skipp / Winks in midfield tbf

He's as good if not better despite being younger. The only reason those two are preferred is because of seniority, not performance.

It's BS really.

Am I being too optimistic too early in thinking we're going to have a young, athletic, largely homegrown side playing exciting attacking football?

I thought it was okay. As far as preseasons can go after only a few sessions with the manager. He appears to have instilled his philosophy early doors, but that is to be reasonably expected as they’ve had this style drilled into them previously on the whole.

We are one or two players short of being a good side again. Naturally there’s still a lot to work on, but the signs are promising!

Not sure how many will be starters but I think we’ll see a squad most weeks with a fair few academy players in it.

I think it's bit soon. Will see what the squad is when we are closer to the start.

We have too much deadwood which could get in the way.

You are being too optimistic, there's still a strong chance that we mostly see the same old names this coming season with the young players only getting cameos.

I won't be convinced until our last pre season game where we will see if the academy players are favoured or if we start with a similar XI as we did today.

Hold on, where's your negativity and anger, that's necessary on here?

Get rid of the Deadwood Marti bring in a few decent players a proper striker sell Daka onto someone in Europe that believes he can achieve something cause we’ve lost faith in the lad, time to build for the Championship Start but looking on today couldn’t catch all of the game but I was impressed with a few last 20 min Abdul coming back is like a new signing looking as dangerous as ever Paige looking superb hoping Marti can turn this lot around & give us a great season in the EFL Who knows another SBU Scenario but can only say it’s not looking too bad just need to offload the deadwood !!
