Last pre-season we fluffed them all. Winning mentality is important.

We won the first 2.  First was against Villareal as well.

Lol just chose to omit Daka (not being close to a professional footballer to be fair :crylaugh:

I think our forward options are great. Defending will be the problem I feel yet again.

I think Ricardo, Okoli, Nelson Justin is a very strong back line.

Yes Daka I'm not sure what position he plays we do need to spend money on  striker but Ayew finds goals but how many games or what if he gets injured

Agree on McAteer but he pressed and worked back very well, Marti will like that, especially in away games against the better sides. Reckon he’ll play a fair bit this season.

You make a great point mate and to be honest I havent worded my post that well, I meant to say Mcateer looked the weaker in how direct and fast he wanted to take the ball forward, could throw Evans in there but didnt really get long enough to give an opinion

McAteer plays like our less inspiring midfielders.  Safety first. And given he's not particularly great at take-ons that's probably to be expected.  He fares better on a give-n-go moving into space than he does taking players on with the ball at his feet as he's neither particularly fast nor tricky.

Ricky - not sure how many games he will last. JJ just depends on his confidence. He was honking last season. Difficulty to know how the partnership of Okoli and Nelson will be. I fear that Faes, Coady and Vesty may see more games than most of us would like.

Assuming we lose Ndidi, Hermansen and BEK and also manage to shift out two or three of VK, Coady, Faes, Soumaré and BDR, with a handful of smart free transfers / loans the squad will look in decent shape.

Thomas deserves to start the season on the left after the way he finished last season.

That's fine as we probably doesnt start in our strongest 11. He's more than good enough for the squad though.

I’d forgotten about those, my bad. I just remembered the 3 stinkers leading into the season.

The more time cooper got with them, the worse we got

I get McAteer wants to be a winger but if he’s serious about playing at the highest level he can he needs to think about changing position, he’s clearly the weakest behind Monga, Fatawu, Mavididi and Evans. He should be in the managers ear about playing as a striker, let’s be honest he can’t be much worse than Daka who seems to have lost all confidence in his own performances.
