Only watched the first half and he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch

He’s a special talent isn’t he can’t wait to see him this season

BEK didn’t seem on it today. Wonder if he really is on his way out.

I thought he played well. Some of the link up play with McAteer was great. His corners were rubbish though!

This lineup would be a lot of fun and what I would go with against Wednesday.

Jakub

Pereira

Aluko

Nelson

Thomas

Page

El Khannouss

Fatawu

Alves

Monga

Mavididi/Evans

(Don't say that midfield gets run through because the alternative is Winks and Skipp)

Page is seriously impressive…. Movement of a seasoned pro and football maturity far beyond his years!

I thought he was as good as anyone on the pitch to be honest, looked quality

Natural pace

He falls over a little easy, it’s hard for a 16 year old but he needs at little bit of edge (think Rooney) which he doesn’t appear to have naturally

He does bounce back very quickly, there was a move where he won the ball back, fell over and sprung straight back up. He’s still. Boy though we need to remember this….. I was still wearing Velcro Lonsdales and wanking furiously daily when I was 16…….

Yep, opposite of Golding

Since day one, I’ve thought he hasn’t had what it takes to be a top level footballer. He can’t run, he’s very awkward on the ball and doesn’t seem to have any presence about him. Shows the occasional nice bit of footwork, but he will never play a consistent first team football for us, if at all. We were properly done over by Chelsea… wasted £8m on a player who they knew full well would never make it.

I've got to disagree with this. He has it in abundance. He was gliding past players yesterday and even when he seemingly lost the ball or "fell over" it was either a foul or he got back up and won it back.

Really positive performance players look really fit and some excellent patterns of play in both halves. All very positive given Marti and Xavi have been here less than a week.

Really difficult to start selecting starting XI’s at this stage as there are a lot of moving parts in this squad especially in relation to outgoings and question marks as to who will still be here or wants to be here come the end of the transfer window.

personally I think the following are in the departure lounge just waiting for an offer capable of acceptance whether they go or not is a different matter -

Hermansen
Ricardo

Justin

Faes

Coady
Soumare

Ndidi

Winks

BEK

Daka

Mavididi

I watched the BTG tactics video and then saw the players trying to implement it yesterday. The thing that stuck out for me was the three at the back spread out with the defender in the middle sending the ball out, exactly as it was in the examples we were shown on the stream.

Early days but you can see what Mart is trying to get the players to do already. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Marti can do with better players then he had at QPR.
