Thank goodness!! Someone who's NOT included Soumaré in their preferred starting 11! Why have people started putting him in? Vesty's dog would be a better proposition than Mr. Lope-about.

I dont often use the c word.  The majority of the time i do use it, its when soumare is involved in the conversation.  I hardly ever use his name these days, simply referring to him as "that c***".

I Never want to see him in a city shirt again.  GET OUT OF OUR CLUB!!

I think Soumare is going to be our starting 6....

Remember last season when the players were saying how good he looked in training?

If he's doing it again....

Do I get a discount on my season ticket?

I'm all for winning 5 or 6 nil, but if we are getting into the realms of double figures, it would feel a little false for me. I appreciate it would be a great lift for the team and fans to have a massive win. As I say, it's just my own feeling and I appreciate others will want us to win by the highest score possible. It could however, also be an anti climax where we scrape a 1 - 0 victory because they deploy a low block effectively and we haven't figured out how to break that down yet.

I disagree to be honest, I think it’s more the mentality that it displays, a desire to keep going even when the game is won, it’s precisely this mentality that will benefit us in those tight games, because we know the appetite to score will be there.

I did say people would have a differing opinion.  If you're beating a team convincingly I think there comes a point where the score becomes meaningless. I remember when I was at school we beat a team at rugby by 100 points - it was a great feeling at that moment in time, but didn't provide us with the test we needed, so the following game we were all a bit cocky and subsequently lost a game we should have won. As I say it's just an opinion, no doubt I'll come away from KP euphoric if we win by a cricket score, but I'm not convinced it's the test we need. I'd prefer us to win 3 or 4 nil and it be a somewhat sterner test.

OK I can get that.

The 'Jogging Donkey' has a few wonder training sessions, flatters to deceives, and blags himself a starting position,  but surly Marti is intelligent enough to see during the real matches, the same things that  we as fans have pointed out and witnessed on numerous occasions, that he's a lazy, uninspiring, charlatan, that goes on the occasional charging run ( when he can actually be bothered) and con's people into  thinking he's a footballer.

The tw@t is taking up a squad position, wage, and making the match day team, which all could be utilised by.....well anyone else really.

I will do cartwheels of joy with my 'Gammy knee' and then suffer the 3 days of pain which whould follow the day he departs our club. I can't stand the bloke.

Backs to the wall and a sold out away and thats got the world against them, this isn't the walk over people think. A draw is good value

You make valid points my friend and could be right.

But you have described the situation and come up with the 'ideal response' that we as human beings would 'like' to happen (let's say if we were in the situation and not SW, we would like to display a dogged them v us fighting spirit, I get that).

But in reality SW are in a real mess, and whilst their situation will galvanise them to a certain degree, as you mentioned above,  the physical lack of players, crucially the loss of their better one's, the upheaval of finally losing their manager, (who actually I rate, and feel was the reason they were "punching above their weight ")  the lack of a proper, structured, and focused pre-season ( not some behind closed doors kick abouts) and not having the distractions they have had to endure, the match could be a different affair.

IMO I think we will witness from SW all the attributes in your post whilst the occasion, their situation and adrenaline pump through their vains. but 20 mins or so later that will start to dwindled and and another 10 min later their physical adversities will start to play a part.  I don't think it will be a 5 nil goal fest ( but would welcome that of course)  nor a true walk in the park, but I'd be disappointed with a draw.

But who knows, you could be spot on and I'm talking BS.

Being away will help Wednesday on Sunday, as what’s going on at home will be a distraction, that and the fighting for themselves along with the club could make the opening a little fraught.

But, suspect @Guppys Love Child could be right and they blow themselves out after 30 minutes and take control to a comfortable win.

I'm  expecting a hard-fought, difficult match. I'm not worried about the score, it'll  be close I think and I just want 3 points at the end of it.

It’s different at professional levels though. At a pro level it can be a sign of ruthlessness, but in fairness so can going 3-0 up and coasting for the remainder of the game. But with it being opening day, and all of the bizarre hype around a Welsh veterans team and Birmingham, I’d quite like us to blow them away.

Hard fought game against a side that’s barely had a pre season and barely any first team players? I’d be genuinely concerned if we narrowly won this…..

Siege mentality is a powerful thing, depends if they have it.

I mean it is yes, but this is more than what would constitute a siege mentality….. it’s downright demoralising…. I’d go as far as saying if we lost, it would probably a darker day than being relegated to league one, they’re in that much turmoil.

If we lose, it will be entirely our own fault!
