For people wondering what Sheff Wed's squad will be like

They have lost 10 players from the 17 players who played 1000 minutes or more for them last season

Including their top 4 goalscores

Then there is a question around whether their next top goalscorer and "star" player can even play

Their starting 11 is going to be very very poor

Still no chance of them forfeiting and us getting the 3 points then?

I will take a scrappy 1-0 just to get 3 points on board. Wins a win and we need that for positivity going into Wednesday.

Not sure how a scrappy win against this outfit gives anyone confidence. I know some people are very black and white but if you manage to trip over the line abd sneak a win against this lot then it should be concerning rather than encouraging.

I think he prefers Soumare in the middle for a bit of presence in the middle. Winks and Skipp are a bit short.

Just the skill set Soumare has made a name for himself at this club over multiple seasons and managers. 😂

Yes.

But Soumaré is VERY short.

Short of effort, skill, endeavour, drive, tackling, positioning, football-brain, bravery, accuracy. In fact everything that a footballer should be. And don't get me started on his contribution - what is it now? 0 goals and 0 assists in god-knows-how-many lazy appearances!

Never got the dislike for Thomas, looked a real prospect when he broke through and has been pretty badly managed since.

Prefer him at left back to either JJ ( when did he last have a good game) or Kristiansen.

No dislike as such just no blind faith either after watching him for years

Smash these to bits please. I’m still reeling from the 7-1 cup defeat against them!!

What an away end that night though.

Absolute scenes as the kids might say when the Davison (I think) header hit the back of the net.

As for today 3 1 City.

Gaffer said so in the presser Friday yea so I’d fully expect him to start - let’s not all start pretending Thomas is any good all of a sudden - JJ would start anyway and definitely will if we are still trying to sell him

I’d be happy with that. I think JJ has been the victim of bad managers, hopefully a season in the championship should be more than comfortable for him.

What I want to see today is direct forward football. I don't want to see nonsense back passing and safe side passing. 1-2 touches and move the bloody ball forward. Make mistakes while doing that, I don't care, it's not PL, the punishment ratio is low in Championship.

And this was my pre match speech.

Thank you.

I think he benches Soumare & Faes as a “you guys need to leave” message, and plays them against Huddersfield as a shop window game.

Not concerned if we don’t see Monga and the youth as long as we see them starting Tuesday.

Finally... lets play some football today!

Hopefully we'll give you a game. Cheers for messages of support from your fans and anyone that is generous enough to help with protests that we are doing. Hopefully the same would happen if and when its on the other foot as I know it might do with your crap ownership as it stands.

Genuinely all real football fans are behind you. What’s happening to you is a disgrace.

Best of luck after today.

Will be interesting to see which players are not involved as it will be a hint to who we are close to moving on or who we are trying to force out for that reason I am not convinced that one or two of VK, Faes, Vesty, Winks, Daka might be notable absentees. I think Soumare will be involved initially but wouldn’t be shocked to see him shifted on before the deadline.

Yes me too, he’ll have experience and youth at centre back, just can’t make my mind up on weather he goes with Vest or faes.

Yes, however, yesterday proved that we simply can’t use Vesty, at all. Because if we do Wednesday have a glaring weakness to attack, and it doesn’t take a skilled footballer to exploit it, it’s as simple as a long ball and pace. Playing Vesty will be a massive error…. HAS to be Nelson and Pkoli for me, but Faes and Okoli would be better than Vesty.

Genuinely hope your situation resolves itself quickly. no football fan should have to witness the destruction of their club.

So basically how we played in the pre season games.

I seem to remember a fair bit of sympathy from Wednesday when we were in the shit. Cov on the other hand said "let them go under" which is why I was more than happy with their slide into oblivion.

Your club is a massive example to our fans of what happens when your attitude is "they own the club so they can do what they want". All the best for today with the protest.

Chance to put down a marker today, and set the tone for the rest of the season. Hope we come out of the traps extremely fast. Whilst it's a potential banana skin and could be a very tough game, if we can get a couple of early goals I genuinely think it could end up being a cricket score with the attacking players we have.

Looking forward to getting down to the ground as I'm really up for this one. Hope I feel the same come 4.30pm.

Remember outside the ground after the game and it was about to kick off. A Wednesday fan walked over and said sorry lads it was the refs fault. Diffused the situation as everyone started laughing

Think it won't be a rout, and dont expect it to be a walk in the park.

End of the day, we need to respect the opponent who have been written off and have nothing to lose. They could be dangerous.

I’m expecting a tough game but we should have enough to overcome the owls. Our wingers will be a nightmare for their defenders. 2-0

Posted

They have Bernard, Iorfa, Lowe, Palmer, Valery, an experienced back line. Coupled with Chalobah and Bannan ahead of them, it's not like we'll be up against a team with 20 first team apps between them.

I still expect us to win, but potentially could be a frustrating watch.
