I would not be surprised if we point towards minimal transfer business for the last two windows as our defence for mitigating circumstances.

I feel we have finally bit the bullet and realised we have to sort this mess.

Think we spend minimal this window, wages and amortisation drop massively next season go again, all the kids are bloodied.

Fossehub has heard that Kone rejected us, but hasn't had a reliable journalist confirm it.

If true and it was for example over wages, glad the club are finally seeing sense.

That guy just re tweets rumours from anyone.

Agree. Don't mean to be arrogant but if Kone would rather chase more wages at a club like QPR than play in front of 30k plus every week and train in a £100m training facility then he really isn't the one for us.

Not to mention if he backed himself he'd surely be thinking he could be a premier league player in the near future with all the goodies that come with that.

Not that arsed but then when you see the fee he’s gone for it’s so worth low risk. I’m sure some striker names will come out soon or hope glover has found another gem!

That's grim. One game into a new season and writing it off already :(

Miguel Delaney now reporting this as well - says he was excited most by QPR and opted for them

if its over wages then great I don't want him here, it could be he sees it as easier to break into their team as well

We are an aging-striker injury away from having no backup. I am sorry we cannot rely on Daka or an emerging Evans to get the goals we’ll need if promotion is a realistic aim.

Agree but with the caveat there needs to be some balance.  We are financially far, far better off in the league above, as soon as possible.

Striker and another central midfielder feel like minimum requirements, with good scouting they don't need to cost the earth.  Then get a couple of loans in.

Out of the 4 clubs interested, QPR is much closer to where he lives at the moment and he probably won't have to move. He probably wants that stability

Another potential factor is perhaps they were able to give him better assurances over game time.

I reckon QPR will be a good move for him.

Tier 4 source (and not upgraded) says it all. We may well have enquired, I'd suspect. Without sounding big headed, if we did really want him, we could have got him.

big flaw in that argument, and that is that we're run by these two clowns
