Just sell him before his value drops any further as his contract gets closer to expiring.

Somewhere around £5mill in January is probably fair and there would be takers at that.

So infuriating that this is what we are probably going to have to resort to with Nelson so we actually get an okay fee unless he starts playing the majority of games very soon

Can’t wait to see us either sell him for naff all next summer because he will only have 1 year left or he walks for free the following summer

As long as we protect the real assets at centre back

So reported interest in him from premiership clubs and he hasn’t even started a league game for us yet.
While those 2 clowns continue to play.
Instead of us building a side around him we could lose him for very little in today’s financial market.
Leicester City 2025. Absolutely disgraceful.

£5mil are you actually having a laugh.....like REALLY

his contract ends in 2027 and we know he'll be starting sooner rather than later, BN knows that too

£5mil for Nelson, thanks for the laugh

It’s a great point that he has already played against Moore however I was just playing devils advocate and asking what our fan reaction would be if selected and we lost and he had a tough game.

I think Leicester fans are very fair with youth players who show a bit of personality and we're sick of watching the same old shite put out the same performances every week.

Leaving out an academy player with massive potential and someone who could actually get us a big fee one day for two overpaid clowns who take turns making massive mistakes every game and have contributed more to our demise than our success, and will leave for nothing once they’ve finished their massive contracts.

It’s brilliant stuff.

Feel sorry for whoever is nearby @Ric Flairwhen he reads this!

But it doesn't make sense. Vestergaard has been mostly excellent this season so can see where he's ahead of Nelson but prioritising some of the players who've got a long record of failure with the club is wild. Hope the manager follows up on what he said in his post-match interview on Tuesday and gives the likes of Aluko and Nelson at least a place on the bench.

The fans would get behind him as well. The only legitimate reason for not involving Nelson would be if there is an attitude issue after rejecting the bids for him but he may feel justified if that was the case as he hasn't had a look-in.

I’m seeing a 4th choice who we have no interest in playing, who is further away from the first team than he was 2 years ago, who all has less than 2 years on his contract.

Perfect storm for Premier League sides to come in for a bargain in January or next summer. From Nelson’s point of view, it’s a no brainer rather than extending with us.

well its pretty obvious the club see him as a first team player; so they wont sell him cheap, if hes smart he wouldnt go to a prem team and get lost like others have

if you look at the wider picture of everything then its pretty clear we arent even looking to sell, Nelson is being eased into the first team as well, given the expectations here are alot higher compared to Oxford too,

also he will get his chance in the first team, its when not IF

Not every Premier League sides is a Chelsea or Man City. If someone like Palace sell Guehi and one for him (they have previous of tapping into the EFL market), that’s a great move for him.

He will have loads of better options than us. This idea we can leave him out and expect him to just sign a new contract when we decide seems naive to me. It feels as likely that he isn’t keen.

And it doesn’t mean we value him or see him as key. We have previous for refusing offers as interested parties aren’t meeting the valuation. £4mill for Iverson turned down?

thing is, they wont look at him certain club want players to come in straight the way, which many premier league teams seem to want

also if we didnt see value in him, he'd have been gone in the summer window wouldnt he, like we did with McAteer, as it would have been more money in the coughers

and the Iversen stuff was strange as it was around the time managers changed within the club and the club just fafft around, also you say about better options than us, wasnt the same said bout Monga? grass isnt always greener, leaving one club to go to another doesnt mean better, Nelson could go somewhere else and be nowhere to be seen and never ever play at all, its pretty clear to see the pathway here, and as I said its all bout timing, which frankly our fanbase dont know what patience is one bit

also on Nelson im pretty sure its already been reported previous the club value him and see him as an important player for the future

No he hasn't. Do people really get blinded by his ability to pass a football under no pressure? He was massively at fault for the goal against West Brom and again at fault for the goal on Tuesday. He's made plenty of other errors as well. He's obviously good enough for this level but he like many others have been pretty poor so far.

Just give him a chance Marti! He may make mistakes but at least we can see he's growing, improving and wants to be at this club.

What is the point in playing faes when he's out of contract at the end of the year and would jump ship tomorrow if he had the chance.

In fairness , Tuesdays goal was down to Skipp deciding to ignore the player he was specifically marking and although I’m no fan of JV he was having to make a quick  decision to tread warily so close to goal but I agree should have done better

I gave Palace as an example as they have form for giving young players a chance.

Honestly the only reason Nelson has to sign a new deal is if he has injury concerns in his mind and wants to secure himself rather than risking being a free agent.

But even if he was signed by a PL side and loaned to a Championship side for the second half of the season, that would be ideal for him as he would have the security of a longer deal and pathway to PL football longer term, and in the short term, first team football in the Championship.

Taking off blue tints, if you were his agent, that is the logical move.

He has mate, just look at the stats. Obviously, he was poor for the goal vs Wrexham but he's been our most consistent defender this season. I'm no fan of him after his antics, especially the previous season, but I try to be objective.

He's meant to step up re. that goal vs. West Brom, and it could easily have been prevented had Faes not dived in or Soumare been better positioned.

Hang on a minute am I missing something? Wasn't his last appearance an absolute disaster?

You could honestly be talking about Faes, Vestergaard or Okoli here

First 45 minutes weren't great, second half was fine, but Okoli, Vestergaard and Faes have made more mistakes this season and seem to get more chances.

Also there's a reason we've turned down bids for him but seemingly had no real interest in any of the others
