Back on the comfortable Vestergaard's the problem train I see.

They are all the problem.

Dropping Vestergaard fixes nothing in the same way dropping Luke does nothing.

Or dropping Daka.

Or...

It won’t make a difference if the replacement plays the same way.  They need to change the tactics first before we see a difference to this team, then their attitudes and application.

Best player on the pitch. The Huddersfield excuse can well and truly get in the bin now. As can Marti if he drops him again.

To be honest, we'd probably be awkwardly celebrating a clean sheet and spawny 1-0 win if his team mate had bothered to jump to challenge Ayling at the end.

Let’s be crystal clear if Ben does not play Saturday then it is official Cifuentes is a complete and utter moron.

looking like he is whether Ben plays or not........playing Skipp means you are playing with 10 men, playing carranza on his own up top when he is far to slow for that role, playing VK who is national league 1 at best, persisting with Faes who will give goals away for fun, playing ayew who thinks he is a one-man band, etc. etc

Thought he was very good, did everything required of him and looked assured rather than rusty despite his inexplicable absence from the team/squad all this time. I remember Vestergaard and Fatawu putting him in a couple of particularly sticky situations which he dealt with admirably. No surprise to anyone except presumably Cifuentes and the usual contrarians.

Have you seen our squad, there are very little options. Not defending him but he didn't put this shit show together

Thought he was our best player to be honest.

Thats not saying much i know but he looked solid and assured on the ball.

Considering we have dimwits like Hamza and Vesty as Captains i would make him the Captain or James, however knowing our Manager he will probably drop them both now!

No arguing with you there, squad is dreadful,  but I think he could have made a better fist of putting who where etc.

Every example i've seen has at least 4 horrible selections of massive deficiencies.

There is not better, just 'equally bad'.

It absolutely *could* make a difference more than any other player. And that's not a reflection on Vestergaard's ability who's decent at this level (though had many poor games this year), but more what picking forces you to do tactically:

- We have to sit so much deeper defensively, inviting pressure and denying the chance to press

- Our pace of play is slowed down considerably because whilst he has a great range of passing, he does not move the ball quickly, nor can he get the team up the pitch

- He's often doing the same role as Winks which means we then remove yet another player from the opposition half in the build up, nullifying our impotent attack even more. Even the way Nelson played was massively different because he was not able to ping the ball like he can as that's Vestergaard's role.

It's such basic analysis

Vestergaard is a slow defender, he is surprisingly weak and his agility is almost non-existent! I realise people like to focus on his negatives accompanied by 'yeah, he can pass but he is there to defend" type nonsense. He is there to defend, but is gets picked in a side ridiculously short on creativity to make those passes he can make.

When we are sat in, this not down to him, we retreat through cowardice or lack of confidence, its actually Jannik who could get us out of being trapped in our box, but there is almost nobody upfield!

Very much enjoyed the 3, think it is definitely the way we should go, yes we lose a potential body higher up the pitch, but we are hardly showered with riches up top so would prefer we use a 3, keep it tight and look to spring a counter. I miss the days of Vardy or Mahrez sat on the halfway line looking to burst forward.

Our lack of movement is an absolute crime this season.

Well the ‘but he had a bad game at Huddersfield’ lot who didn’t want him in the side have got their wish….

Shame for him. Sounds like a bad one.
