I think we may need to offload atleast 2 fullbacks. Kristiansen, Thomas, Coulibaly, JJ, Ricardo, Hamza and Aluko is way too many especially given most of them are better than this level and will expect a lot of game time.
If Kristiansen can't be moved on because of injury and he's going to be back in say 2 months, we may have to offload someone like Thomas and possibly loan out Coulibaly or sell JJ.

That would also take us a step closer to keeping Bilal.

A collision? With what? A fuching Ford Fiesta?

Probably a slow moving Vestergard, not too different than running into a tree, probably looked like this......

Ricardo injured again. Great player, i like the bloke in how he comes across but he has to be one of the most injury prone players we've had in recent years. There can't be an argument to renew his deal when it comes up next (1 year left?).

Think we got so much out of him in the champ last season because Enzo had him more as a 6

Marti Cifuentes explains James Justin's Leicester City absence with triple injury update
Leicester City injury news as updates on James Justin, Victor Kristiansen and Ricardo Pereira ahead of the new season

Leicester City boss Marti Cifuentes has explained why James Justin, Ricardo Pereira and Victor Kristiansen missed Sunday's pre-season win over Fiorentina.

The three defenders were left out of the squad for the final friendly of the summer with Luke Thomas and Hamza Choudhury starting at full-back.

Pereira and Kristiansen have both suffered with minor problems during pre-season with the former's hamstring concern forcing him to miss last week's double-header against Karpaty Lviv and FC Koln while Kristiansen hasn't been seen since the win over OH Leuven.

Justin's exclusion from the win over the Italian top flight side was a surprise after featuring regularly throughout pre-season. There has been speculation of interest from the Premier League for the 27-year-old with Leeds United and Everton both reportedly keen.

Following their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship, the Foxes need to sell players to raise cash. Alongside Mads Hermansen and Bilal El Khannouss, Justin and Kristiansen are two players who have been linked with moves away this summer.

However, speaking after the final pre-season friendly of the summer, Cifuentes confirmed that the trio were forced to miss the game due to injury. "Unfortunately, JJ [Justin] and Ricardo have picked up small muscular injuries," the City boss said.

"We are testing them to see how long they will be out for, hopefully not much. Unfortunately with Kristiansen, he had a collision in training and was injured. Hopefully we will know more about the severity of the injury in the next couple of days but he might be out for a period of time."

Cifuentes is expected to provide another update on the fitness of his squad next week before the Championship season gets underway. City welcome Sheffield Wednesday to the King Power Stadium next Sunday.

Hopefully concussion protocol and is a couple of weeks?

Don’t think it’s concussion or MC would have said that.

we need some help from qpr fans as to what he means by certain words/phrases (eg Rodgers - a few weeks = 6 months )

Will be just our luck if a load of the full backs we need to move on this summer get medium to long term injuries.

It wouldn't be good to be left with Choudhury and Thomas either though, they are not ideal first choices for either side.

You can't drop Choudhury is the clubs social media driver and captain.

This is going to be a busy topic this year. Players made of glass and a style that encourages them to be on the front foot…

I would be content with Thomas, Aluko, Choudhury and Ricardo. Especially is Jayden Joseph sticks around too.

Stephy Mavididi injury update for Birmingham fixture as Marti Cifuentes explains decision
The winger was omitted from the squad for the win over Charlton Athletic, allowing 16-year-old Jeremy Monga to make his first league start for the club on the left flank

A fit Stephy Mavididi for Leicester City’s clash with Birmingham this Friday is “very important” to manager Marti Cifuentes, hence the winger’s absence at Charlton.

Mavididi was a surprise omission from the City squad at The Valley, with Jeremy Monga handed his first league start on the left wing in his place.

Cifuentes chose to leave Mavididi out because of a minor muscle concern, and because he did not want to risk exacerbating the issue ahead of a big game at the King Power Stadium.

This Friday’s all-Midlands clash with unbeaten Birmingham is City’s first game of the season against a side they are expected to compete for promotion with, and Cifuentes wants to make sure Mavididi can play.

“Stephy felt a small muscular feeling during the week and we were hoping he could make it,” Cifuentes said after the win over Charlton.

“But at this stage of the season, especially with one game left before the international break, we thought it was very important that he’s ready for the Birmingham game and hopefully that will be the case.”

If Mavididi is fit, he would be expected to start on Friday night, with Monga then used as a substitute.

With Kasey McAteer sold, there’s an opening for a fourth-choice winger at City, and with Silko Thomas and Wanya Marcal both on the bench at Charlton, the former coming on to make his debut for the club.

Provided Mavididi is fit, and with Ricardo Pereira having made his injury comeback at the weekend, City will have just three players unavailable for the match against the Blues.

Victor Kristiansen and Bobby De Cordova-Reid are both in individual training and are due back in the next couple of weeks, while Harry Souttar is set to return to training around October.
