Edingleyfox Posted 24 August 2025 Posted 24 August 2025 (edited) Would rather go for someone up and coming either a striker or attacking central midfielder. Edited 24 August 2025 by Edingleyfox
Sly Posted 24 August 2025 Posted 24 August 2025 Just now, Edingleyfox said: Would rather go for someone up and coming either a striker or attacking midfielder. He’s 26, more of a winger I’d say, rather than a 10. About as injury prone as Lee Morris during the last 12 months, maybe even worse. Celtic were in at £5m apparently. No doubt we see him as the El Khannous replacement. He can play as a 10, however gives us options out wide to back up Fatawu as well. The transfer makes sense. 1
honeybradger Posted 24 August 2025 Posted 24 August 2025 Generally it's best to leave injury prone players alone. Hopefully he ends up going to Celtic. 1
Lambert09 Posted 24 August 2025 Posted 24 August 2025 Worth a pop but I’d be worried about an obligation. We’d end up paying 10m for someone who played 4 games or something daft
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 I do wonder if we are after two players that can play the “10”. Marti has shown he’s not the biggest fan of Alves and I could see him going out on loan again. Rego and Stengs?
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Be rude not too. Supposedly available for £5m, recent article about the rumours to Celtic. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/calvin-stengs-breaks-celtic-cover-35780832?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button
Spanner73 Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Like everything else at the club does anyone have any confidence in who we buy ? Our scouting is shit Occasionally we get a good one but their few and far between and it’s more likely we’ll get a duff who we put on a 5 year deal and give them 100k a week again. I don’t trust our judgement at all so here’s an idea, don’t bother !!! If they’re not in the academy, go without !
Phenom Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Strong attacking and passing numbers when he plays 3
LCFCJohn Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 With the injuries and the fact Celtic want him now (after we were linked in the past), this seems like one of Rodgers ‘broken’ players. I know we are desperate for some news of incomings but desperation has got us in the mess we are in so I’d pass on this one.

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 (edited) At this point we’re like when David Brent gets introduced to that group of girls in Chasers - “Nice to meet all of ya... anyone's fine…” We’ll take ANYONE! Edited 25 August 2025 by Wasyls Pec Deck 1
Gloria Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Loan with buy option, but only if he promises to play really well and not get injured 🤪

Edingleyfox Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 If funds are as tight as they seem should Leicester be looking at a player with recent fitness issues and top wages. Celtic seem to have rued him out
honeybradger Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Stengs isnt the right option for us. 1. Injury prone 2. Not a natural 10 - with our weakness in midfield we cant have 3 wingers and Jordan Ayew in front of them. We need a 10 who can help the CMs control the game and also carry their weight in terms winning the ball back. Stengs does not offer that. Ideally we would go for someone like Titraoui or Joao Rego, natural midfielders who can stay fit and support our weak centre midfielders. 2

CloudFox Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 A couple of years ago, I'd be excited by this. His injury record of late is a pretty big red flag though. Is he robust enough to play in the Championship, playing twice a week? 2
Brainy Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 I get why people are negative however nothing about our transfer activity this summer, particularly the last two or three weeks suggests we're about to spunk 100k on wages for a player
