Popular Post Vowels Posted 25 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 25 August 2025 He was brilliant a few years ago. Staggering to think we spent £28million on Golding rather than gone for him last year 7
dooflip Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 I think at 5m this is a pretty smart move. if we consider that we may be losing mavididi too, I don’t think 5m for a winger is bad business. Especially of mav were to go for 15m For example. i can’t believe stengs is 26, I remember him being a wonderkid on fm😂 he’s clearly got talent. 5m for a winger that can also operate as a 10 in todays market really isn’t bad at all, even if he has struggled with injuries. We’ve got other options out wide so we won’t be completely reliant on him. theres no denying though that other positions are a priority, but like I alluded to at the beginning of my post, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in terms of outgoings.
mozartfox Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Makes great under-pants. It a yes from me. The Ryan Bertrand sick-bay suite at Seagrave is vacant.
Long Eaton Fox Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 (edited) Rotate with Paige. Cover on the wings. £5m seems good. 😂 Edited 25 August 2025 by Long Eaton Fox 1
HighPeakFox Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 I wish people would stop mentioning that we bought Golding for £40m... 2

Yeah it’s his ability to play in multiple positions being the key here. Obviously more recently been a no.10 as well which will be needed and would be great if he was in rotation with Paige as we don’t want to stifle his growth

Aus Fox Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Got to be better value than the £85 million we spent on Golding. Gerrriminnn! 3
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Just been on SSN saying we're in talks.
kingpowerout Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 (edited) Looking at his highlights reel he’s either a direct replacement for Abdul or will provide decent competition he’s also quite tall and physical which is much needed Edited 25 August 2025 by kingpower
moore_94 Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 I expect he is our Bilal replacement Best season in his career so far was in 23/24 where he got 8 goals and 16 assists as an attacking mid I just hope it is either a very cheap deal or a loan with how injury prone he is 1
RedSoxUK Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 £5m? Should be a loan with £5m option or obligation on promoted + 20 apps or something. Still few years ago this bloke was £20m + to a PL side. 1

Whilst his injury record is reason for caution, so too is the fact he's never really performed outside of the Eredivisie.
JimJams Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 In addition to this, if we're after Stengs does that mean that Joao Rego is now off the table? Are we likely to go for/want both? Would Rego be seen as the 10 with Stengs as cover for 10 and Fatawu? Tune in next week to find out....
Ric Flair Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Stengs really doesn't align with a football club that needs a complete reset and this is coming from arguably his biggest fan. 2

Not a natural 10 - with our weakness in midfield we cant have 3 wingers and Jordan Ayew in front of them. We need a 10 who can help the CMs control the game and also carry their weight in terms winning the ball back. Stengs does not offer that. Ideally we would go for someone like Titraoui or Joao Rego, natural midfielders who can stay fit and support our weak centre midfielders. He’s a football manager legend, gotta be done….. plus it will satisfy my desire to sign on back in 2019.

Potentially Marti wants a bit of experience thrown into the forward line. If he lands for £5m and has an injury free run? He’s got the ability to piss this level, and would be useful experience to have around the younger lads. Id love to have a team of talented youngsters, but there’s a healthy balance to be struck with more experienced heads if you can . 2

The point is do you trust their judgement ? because based on what we buy I don’t id rather stay down than buy more crap No, I don’t really trust their judgement. Hence why we need regime change! Or least the heads or 3 or 4 senior people.
teblin Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Kind of signing that can be a disaster or genius. Depends on a bit of luck.
