someone of his age and ability would probably come to charlotte for  12 months to get guaranteed games,  get a full season under his belt and get himself back in the shop window. Because of the extreme weather, there’s also a lot of artificial pitches   So much less slide tackling and less going to ground so  as unacceptable as we would find that, it’s probably a good  environment to strengthen  the tendons in knees and ankles to get back to full strength.

Don't footballers whinge about artificial pitches quite a lot due to them causing more injuries

Looks like Pisa are continuing talks. He won’t be coming here, we were just used to push. Not a signing we should be going for anyway. Too many red flags for me.

We're shipping so many others that might not be needed. However no use in keeping a player that doesn't want to be here so hopefully that's all paper talk and he's happy to stay. Impossible to know for sure!

If we can ship out VK & Faes and keep and reintegrate Bilal would be massive

No thanks. I’m okay with the wingers we have.

let’s get a striker in

If Bilal goes we don't really have a 10.

Stengs last full season (he was injured nearly all of last year) was his best season to date in professional football.

He played 35 matches for Feyenoord as a central attacking midfielder, chipping in 8 goals and an excellent 16 assists.

Stengs is very much being lined up as a BEK replacement, if the rumours are true.

He's a decent footballer, he'd be good at this level, but it's still an absolutely braindead signing because his injury record is appalling and we'll almost certainly never make a profit off of him, which we absolutely must start doing more with our signings.

The price we need to sell him at to make a decent enough profit after his amortisation, fees, bonuses, etc, is just more than anyone wants to pay for him.

Not to mention the Seagrave curse will hit and he will do his ACL in week 2 of signing.

I don't think this would be a good move for us.

Would be very typical for the only signing we make is one who plays in a position that we have the most depth.

Absolutely desperate for a 10 and a central midfielder. Probably a fullback too now that Justin has left.

Nobody triggered his release clause when he was available for less than he is now, so it would hardly be surprising if it turns out that no club is now willing to pay a higher price. Maybe Palace assumed we'd be desperate to sell him and would lower our price & have been frustrated to find we're not willing to that (hence Tavioleri's tweet about things being 'tense'). Maybe they'll get so desperate they'll swallow their pride and cough up what we're asking, but as things stand I have a feeling BEK might still be with us this time next week...

That being the case you'd like to think those around him would advise knuckling down, having a strong season and then seeking a better move next summer.

Sulking would be utterly counterproductive, so I hope that wouldn't be the route he goes down.

So Jon Who’s this Stengs

Well let me tell you Top that he looks good on YouTube from what I’ve seen and when his dad had a fax machine and he had a bit of trouble with it Stengs was able to fix it so he could come in handy if he turns out to be like the rest of the shite I’ve bought

I was thinking 100k a wk

5 year contract

Jon “I don’t know what I’d do without you”

Yeah, they do.

It's a funny one, because studies comparing the two surfaces have consistently proven that it's a myth. There is no evidence of there being more serious injuries on 3G surfaces than on natural grass. So it's all in the players' (and coaches') heads.

Obviously, a 3G surface will play slightly differently to a natural grass pitch, but that's a different matter.

Sounds like we were used to get a deal sorted with Pisa then. I did think it was weird for us to be linked. We clearly don't need a winger.

His very very good season at Feyenoord where he got 8 goals and 16 assists was as an attacking mid

I think he made sense as a replacement for Bilal
