Of course it was stupid. ‘If you think Leicester can be in league one you’ve lost your mind’, well we’re now in league one so I suppose we must have lost our minds.

It’s a really naive interview.

A player said some words in an interview. We subsequently went down.

The players saying the words in the interview did not cause us to go down. Our relegation was due to numerous factors, but Jordan James' post-match interview was not among them.

Why the hell does it matter? It was just a poxy post-match interview.

Hahah, a few of you are quite upset that I merely pointed out it was a stupid interview. Of course he’s not the cause of our relegation, you can’t seriously think I was implying that? Crikey!

Rightly or wrongly, when I look back at his year here I will remember some cracking performances but also that interview will stand out to me, same way that Maddison’s comments during our PL relegation still stay with me.

Nobody is blaming him stop being a drama queen.

I've seen plenty of Leicester fans hammering him on social media for it.

Well Jordan James all but announced he won’t be staying here unfortunately, so of course that leads to people thinking back on his time here. Not really that baffling is it, calm down fella lol

This exactly. Circumstances and hindsight mean it’s easy to call it a stupid/bad/ridiculous quote (just like the Maddison one) when really it was just a quote.

This is Claudio in 2016:

"Now we go straight away to try to win the title. Yes, yes man. Only this remains"

Say we lost our next 3 and didn’t win the title - people would’ve been on here calling it as stupid.

James didn’t come here, nor did he play at any time as someone heading to League One. Dwelling is the right word.

I hate like 95% of this forum.

I see your point but what a crap comparison, perhaps you need to check when Claudio said this quote.

I'll back TJB-fox up here, James' comments were at best naive and look a little silly now. He was also the one consistent bright light this year. Both things are true.

I'm sure he's probably thought back to them comments and cringed himself.

Obviously the comments had no impact on our performance and ultimate relegation, and it was just a young lad who had too much belief in his team mates (and it was a really low bar he set as well to be fair).

If we could stop having good young players telling the fans not to be worried about the warning signs in future though, that'd be a decent lol

He said it before the Swansea game and with that there were 4 games left. 3 defeats, in games which included United and Chelsea away could’ve potentially have happened.  What you’re missing is that after he said that and had we lost the next two, you very probably would’ve been on here saying: he ****ed it, we would’ve won it if we kept pretending we weren’t in a title race.

It’s a comment. It’s not that deep. There have been plenty over the years that have looked like a stroke of genius.

People are still dwelling on the Maddison tweet so yeah. Moral of the story: don’t say things that have the potential to come back and bite you on the arse, particularly if you’re in any way associated with Leicester City.

When I heard that Claudio quote the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

Can't say I felt the same when Maddison tweeted that after a 1-0 loss to the worst team in the league or when James said there's no way we'll go down after we conceded 3 first half goals in back to back games.

Managed the same G+A/90 (0.64) as KDH in his Championship season under Enzo.

Given the quality of the coaching, the squad and the results this season that's frankly ****ing immense output.

Looking at what KDH has kicked on and achieved at Everton with a similar work rate, energy and self belief, I'd be all over JJ if I was a Prem club.

Wherever he ends up I'll be hoping he does well. Wherever he goes he'll ideally be a starter, so I don't know if that would mean looking at maybe Birmingham/Wrexham assuming they continue to invest. Cov or Ipswich he'd likely be a regular for either of those.

Given his output and the cost of him, I could even see someone like Brentford taking a punt if he's still available for £5m. They do love a value buy.

Ok thanks for clarifying, I can finally get some sleep tonight

James' naivety was based on his teammates not being so useless as to getting us involved in a relegation battle.

Not quite the same but this is our standings without JJ goals/assists 😓

Wins turned to Draws/Losses: James was responsible for the winning goal in 5 separate matches this season (including the 2-1 win over Stoke and the 3-1 win over Derby). Removing those contributions turns those 15 points into just 2 points.

• Draws turned to Losses: In two matches where Leicester scraped a 1-1 draw (including the home tie against Wrexham), James scored the equalizer. Without him, those 2 points vanish.

• The Bottom Line: You lose 17 points in total.

It's actually insane how dreadful we were. You can't replace James' output with nothing but 25 points lol in terms of an overall team and whole structure it's got to be one of the worst sides at this level in my lifetime.

Pound for pound I'd be amazed if a poorer team has ever played at that level.

Why did we not activate that buy clause in January? And then just sold him regardless in the summer?

Maybe could not afford to or restricted by the stricter championship financial rules?

I guess people would have been happier if he'd said we're a crock of overpaid shit and we are definitely going down

I would have demanded he was promoted to player manager
