To tell if it was successful window , the real question is........?

Does anyone know if any of the signings we are paying full wages?

If we are paying a percentage then i would be quite impressed with rudders, i cant believe i just said that.

8/10

Got more over the line than I expected but we're lumped with Daka, Soumare, VK and Faes for at least another 4 months.

Got incredible fees for some genuinely average players and haven't paid anything substantial for anyone coming in.

You do know where we are now?

I believe this very question was tackled by the Foxes Trust, in a statement shortly after the first of our two recent relegations.

Hard to say until we see what Ramsey and Carranza are going to be like and how much Cifuentes takes to them.

With the supply he'll get from Fatawu alone, Carranza could have a very solid year but he could also be a flop and it's the most important position we needed to recruit for.

JJ is a known quantity and if we really can sign him for €5m that is frankly bonkers. Even twice that wouldn't be unreasonable.

I don't think he's quite as good as some of our fans are hyping him up in their heads but he's definitely very solid at this level and better than what we have.

Especially compared to Skipp for 25m.

I'd say maybe 6/10 at the moment? We've done no harm to ourselves, we've potentially added profitable value and we've reinforced in key areas without much expense.

But let's not kid ourselves, this SHOULD be barely par.

I think this is a very good summary.

I wish I could be as confident as those who are giving it 8 or 9/10.  Carranza could come and play like Gary Taylor Fletcher for all I know and I imagine that Ramsey is quite raw.

Decent in the end, we're still taking the piss having left 90% of it til deadline day though. Unnecessary.

Excited to see the new lads in action.

I think the bar has been lowered so much that people are scoring this window much higher than it should be it was ok 5 or 6/10 compared to recent windows it’s good but it’s not as good as the wnindow last time we were in the championship even

After all the shit we’ve had over the last few seasons this was an 8/10 the most important bit was getting people out. We’ve also managed to bring 3 in at very little cost, finally looks like we’ve trying to balance the books properly.

Everyone hated Woyo - gone

Hardly anyone rated McAteer - £14m

We won two games after dropping El Khannous and Page in instead - £30m pending

Justin was slated all last season - £10m

Coady was branded a commentator - £2m

Ward and Iversen written off by all - jettisoned.

Hermansen - cashed in on in favour of Stolarzcyk who has performed well

Monga Page Mavididi Fatawu retained

i would say 60% swamp drained and 2 young midfielders in to add quality and a bit of energy...

4/10.  Opportunity missed.

Good fees for some outgoings such as McAteer and Justin.  Some not so good such as Mads and BEK.

I have to ask though, what is the aim for this season?  I had assumed promotion and we have a good chance of making it and making all the accountants happy with the riches to be earned, we just needed to gamble a little and add some quality.  I don't think we have done that with three loans including Feyenoord's reserve striker.

With the millions that we have bought in, I would have liked to see us show some ambition.  I would also like to see us show some imagination in the transfer market, try to unearth some gems and a return to the idea of buying young prospects on the way up.  Kone would have hit that brief as would the Millwall guy.

In summary, we have not done enough, we have been over cautious and we continue to be poorly run with questionable strategy/decisions.

So we are poorly run when we overspend on players / wages but also poorly run when we significantly trim the wages and also spend cautiously

Well said. I’d love to know what some fans expected? The club did the most pragmatic thing it could do: trim the squad for Marti, offload dead weight high salary earners and bring in players on loan that are good value for money. I think there is a huge disconnect for the critics who don’t understand how this club is positioned in the transfer market to operate.

Very good window, driven by the outgoings.

Got great deals on Kasey and JJ, players not good enough for the next level, and a decent fee for Ndidi. Coady’s wages are off the books.

Whilst I didn’t want BEK to go, we’ve got a head start on next years PSR. Mads was always going to go and based off his performances so far, we’ve come out on top there.

Only miss is not selling another CB, feel we’re a little heavy there and a couple of good earners that would’ve been good to have shifted. Desperately want to see Nelson in, and I think Harry Souttar will surprise a few when he gets back to fitness. Got a Socceroos spot under threat in a World Cup year, so he’ll be out on loan in Jan, or training well enough to get a chance.

Alves, Cartwright, Braybrooke, Wilson-Brown, Opoku all on loan is great. Golding, Wanya and Evans need to be being pushed to clubs ASAP.

Incomings wise, think we’ve strengthened smartly, just very late in the piece. Not going to judge them until they’ve played 10 games, but seem to be the right type of signings. Begovic is just a glorified GK coach, something we needed. Getting one of the other incomings in earlier could’ve meant a deal for Bouba, which would’ve been thrilled about.

Even without the incomings, think we’re a more balanced squad today than the end of last season. Lot of youth pushing for spots, less high end earners, and some proper deadwood (and middle of the road squad members) moved on.

One of Faes, Vesty or Bouba to go to Saudi with a transfer fee next season, and we’re absolutely flying.

We needed to trim the squad, which done. We needed to significantly reduce our wage bill, tick. We needed to raise funds so we can start a reset for PSR, we seem to have done that. Improve the squad, without spending a fortune, like we have before, yep. We all wanted our average age dropped, that has happened.

Yes, the quality has dropped, but we have done things sensibly. This was a good time to reset, and it's happening.

Not perfect, but it's what needed to happen. I think the incomings are good, just not sure about the striker. But he definitely offers something different up top.

The good thing about the championship is you can get away with a few loan players from the prem to improve your squad on the cheap.

8/10

It’s a terrible window come on!!!

people only saying 7’s and 8’s with the PSR specs on but the wider vision is the club shouldnt have got to the situation of having to sell to comply with PSR

7’s and 8’s is from the days of getting Maddison or Tielemans etc..

3 loans in and a dozen players out is an absolute disgraceful  window.

The window must be rated against the position we find ourselves in now, not where we were 5 years ago.

Good summary - the most exciting thing is a few new faces to make those already here fight for their places, and we specifically needed that up front and in the middle.

Any or all of those could still go to Saudi or Turkey in the coming weeks.  I think Faes and Bouba more likely, not sure I can see Vesty playing in either.

Will be really interesting if we do end up pushing for auto’s the attitude change of Wink. Does he suddenly care again? Don’t think he gets a prem move after us. Else people would have come in for him this window

Decent window all said and done with the two late midfield options. Could've done with shifting one or two more and the Carranza signing isn't exactly inspiring as we desperately needed a goal scorer.

Feel we're going to be over reliant on output from our wingers and midfielders to stand any chance, unless Daka has some sort of renaissance.

Every single person at the club SHOULD have had their PSR specs on. Yes, the regulations are dumb. Yes, we should never have been in that position but we were and getting out of it was far more important than anything else. In this window, we done what we had to do to get right way up again.

We can complain about how the club is being run up until this point but we can't demand that they get us out of it then moan when they do what is necessary to get us out of it.

The issue re recruitment has been overspending on rubbish and awarding ludicrous contracts for dross, not spending per se.

Our original MO of buying potential with resale value was a model that we should never have deviated from.
