I’m certain last time out in the Championship we had an average attendance of 98%, despite ticket prices being the same.

A sign of things to come if the rot continues…

Will be interesting to see how this progresses over the season and beyond. I personally think it’ll only go in one direction.

As we’ll very likely be in the top 2/3 for most of the season I don’t see why it would decline, if that’s the direction you’re thinking of.

I think you’re being optimistic on your prediction, especially given a likely points deduction..

And even if we are top 2/3, decisions such as having Wrexham on a Tuesday night as a cat a fixture will surely put members off.

Its not an entirely true indication though is it, when you consider the lack of 3pm KO's we have had so far. With that being the most popular time to go.

Not saying attendence won't be down this season, but certainly not a true reflection.

Maybe people’s finances are in a worse state than last time, and attending games might be thing that has to give?

With so many evening games and. 200 mile round trip I do think twice before coming to an evening game especially when I can see it on TV

I know a few people who don't bring their kids to any night games. There just isn't the demand to fill these seats.

Average attendance in 23/24 was 96.8% - 31,238

This season so far is 94.8% - 30,572

Just under 700 less when we are yet to have a Saturday 3pm kick off

If we stay near the top of the league the empty seats will fill.

There are some shocking attendance figures in the bottom row of that chart.

Middlesbrough 76% is poor, considering their good start. Swansea 74% and Preston 72% not great.

Wednesday 59% is understandable given the mayhem at that club, but Blackburn 47%?

I know they're not a massive club and haven't had a great time since their glory years, but 14k odd for their last match?!

Apart from Wednesday, I wonder if the rest is just down to the clubs being in parts of the country where people are more skint?

Or are some clubs over-charging more than others? Or PL glory hunters being drawn away to Newcastle/Sunderland or Burnley?

Yeah no doubt we still have a ripple effect from the years of the Premier League and Europe. We will average 30,000+ quite easily which we never used to get anywhere near 2005-2013 so we have come a long way.

What gets me though is we should have been taking advantage of the demand with the expansion and progressing on the pitch. Should be talking about 40,000 down there now and challenging in the top half of the Premier League. Not clinging on to it a bit in the hope we don't have empty seats for Oxford.

Their already lying about the attendance this season according to some who attended the last few games.

It’s all about keeping up appearances and everything in the garden is all rosy 🤣

I'd imagine in the poorer parts of the country such as the north west re Blackburn, Burnley, etc then fans of those teams would probably have to prioritise more now, especially in this current financial climate. So they (in Blackburn's case) would probably prioritise say going to a glam home or away cup tie over playing one of the lesser Championship teams at home on a dank Tuesday evening over the course of a 46 league game season!

Yeah from what I’ve seen so far there is absolutely no way that we are only 700 under on average for each game. It’s significantly more than that. Obviously it’s impossible to count seats but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was closer to 1250-1500 less

Would love, just for a season, for our REAL bums on seats attendances to be used. No way in the world are we on 95% this season. Only 1500 free spaces? The West stand wings have gaps galore, the padded seats are rarely occupied and all around us in the East Stand there are 3 or 4 seats at a time on various rows that are empty.

Its another one of King Power's attempts to control a narrative, cover up deficiencies and protect their product.

It’s not - it’s just how they count season tickets.
