I ask this countless times but noone ever answers. What else should he do?

I’ll answer. We looked better without any left back at all when trying to come back the other night!

Us or Southampton, who will go first

Surprised how bad Will Still has been. That was seen as a major loss that we didn't go for him.

I think he will go first, but I hope it's Marti, for our own sake. We need to get very lucky with the next appointment though.

I won't add much about your performance, but average players? Our recruitment team has gone the Brentford model, and we've signed some players who will go onto play in the Premiership soon.

Femi Azeez, one of the best wingers in the Championship.

Thierno Ballo, techincally assured today, vital in helping us keep hold of the ball. Use to be a Chelsea youth player.

Ivanovic, Parma offered £14million for him over the summer, he should be doing better this season.

Crama from Brentford at centre back was immense today.

Alfie Doughty sitting on our bench while your left back having a nightmare.

Our 20 year old Masou-Sakou in midfield is looking so assured.

Zak Sturge, our left back signed on a free from Chelsea looking great at 21 years old. Chelsea once paid Brighton £8million in compensation for him.

When you add all that quality to the core Championship hardened players such as Cooper, Leonard, Mitchell, De Norre who have the hunger, desire and determination to fly into every tackle and battle to win games. We are a team to be feared this season.

I wouldn't take a single one of your players for our starting 11 from today.

Still, teams will still continue to underestimate us while we continue to play well. WBA (home), Stoke (home), Leicester (home) and we conceded about 4 shots on target in total in all of those games. Not a single team looked like scoring in any of those games.

We are absolutely shite! The league is awful.

you beat us 1-0, a draw was probably the fair result , the winger v Thomas looked light weight v a LB who resembles a 14 pre puberty boy.

We are shite yes and you may be better than us but that a very very low bar.

Fair comment. Goes both ways tho. I wouldn't expect a single player from your team to make our starting xi and most wouldn't make our bench. You just looked like a Millwall team to me.

We're on a downer,.our lowest ebb for 20 odd years and we haven't bottomed out yet. Enjoy your win and your evening x

It was a terrible, low quality game of football, mate. Enjoy your 2 minutes in the sun.

Change the system!

I think the manager has a right to stick with his system after 11 games. Up until today, Luke wasn’t our biggest problem. Today he was for sure. I would actually say the manager should play Aluko before changing the system.

And that's the problem. At least with the last couple, it literally couldn't get any worse. That's not necessarily the case here. Set up to fail whoever it is.

Can you see a system? A style?

Luke Thomas has been a league 1 footballer at best for the last 3 years. He was binned off by both Middlesbrough and Sheffield United in this and other leagues previously….

He been absolutely awful for years, perhaps always.. even in the early games under Brendon he was never good.

The league is really poor this season. This is your opportunity to go up. You will never have a better opportunity- Alex Neil is probably the best manager you’ve ever had- genuinely not a dig.

It would be great fun you lot being in the premier league, good luck.

I liked Marti, he came across as refreshing and candid when he joined. He spoke about the three P’s:

Possession – controlling the game through the ball, short structured build-up from the back.

Positioning – intelligent use of space and player roles to maintain balance and create overloads.

Pressing – aggressive, well-organised pressing to recover the ball quickly after losing it.

There were elements of this philosophy in the latter stages of pre-season and early season games. There now seems to be a wholesale abandonment of this philosophy as there has been little evidence the players can do that or are now not listening to his instructions. He and the team have adopted the other 3 P’s. Piss Poor Performances.

I’d loved to hear a local reporter quiz him on this instead of allowing him to lecture us that team “didn’t defend or play well” because obviously we didn’t notice that 😟

We were pretty much midtable Championship standard last season.

Since then weve lost some (at worst) lower end Prem players in Justin, Bilal and Vardy, replacing them with players (potential aside) have played no higher than Championship standard.

That's the reality of where we're at. Marti is our level of manager right now, midtable and uninspiring. Somebody might come in and get a better tune out of them, but they probably won't.

Losing away to the likes of Milwall and Hull will be commonplace for a while, unfortunately.

Well let's look at the squad.  The majority have been signed to play in the Premier League or have won this division before.  Add in our established academy graduates who are experienced at premier League level and then there's just the loanees, two of which have been arguably our best players this year.

Our squad is still imbalanced and leaving us without a striker is pure dereliction of duty by the board, but there's no way we should accept mid table championship from them.  We should demand that some of them pull their fingers out and start living up to their reputations.

VK or 3 at the back.

VK is worse than Thomas as was seen in his cameo. I really doubt he will start 3 at the back, but we shall see.

I can’t seem to see what his tactics are? We don’t get the ball into the box early enough and rely on panic ball when losing. Defenders who can’t defend a long ball!

I would get rid this weekend  as it’s just not working for him. Bang average form isn’t good enough in the Championship.

Yeah that's fair, appreciate you calling me out on that, what I meant by average is generally speaking on paper. You have some decent players that will absolutely play at the next level, but you've also got a lot of quite "average" players that Neil is getting the most out of, players like Jake Cooper, Steve benda, Casper De Noor, Ryan Leonard, Massimo Luongo, Tristan Crama. They are good championship players but they are playing above what me looking at you from a distance would expect, but they've played well for you as far as i can see, but even if you feel they haven't played as well as maybe I think they have, as a unit he has you excelling and everyone is working for eachother.

We are the complete opposite, we have proven players like Mavididi, Monga, Fatawu, Winks, Ricardo, Vestergaard, Faes, Stolarzcyk, to some degree Ayew, Jordan James. All of these players are proven at this level and most proven at a higher level, yet the system we've adopted has them playing against their strengths for most of the match.

You're absolutely flying just as I thought you would, big fan of Alex Neil (at this level) and I hope he can go on to finally prove the promise he had when he came to this league about 10 years ago.

I like Marti, however, I think the burden of proof is on whether or not there is any evidence suggesting that we should keep him going forward. Its not the other way around. His approach is not working. We are slowly sliding down the table into a place that is going to be hard to come back from if something doesn't change. I would genuinely love to hear people's thoughts on the evidence why he should be kept if that's what you think - because I think the stats and the performances don't back up him staying as our manager.

Cifuentes may not be capable of better, but changing manager is just sticking a plaster over the fundamental issues.

We are rotten from the Top down.

Top and Rudkin out. All new contracts (renewals or incomings) with a sensible wage cap appropriate for this division. Live within our means financially. Get rid of all the trash mercenaries. Stop the corrupt "sponsorships".

Only then it might be worth thinking about who the manager is.

That's a theory, but it's also rife with managers who adopt possession obsession, it happens under Martin, it happened under Enzo and has been happening with Chelsea. Sarri had the same issue, Brendan towards the end with us.

But on the flip side, if they aren't capable why is Marti not understanding that and adapting to his players? Why is he not trying to bed in players like Nelson who are the long term future of this club and have the capacity to learn the system and instead persisting with players who won't be here next season? If the players are as bad as many think on here, why is he persisting with a system that is throwing away points every week?

Probably to try and not upset the dressing room before Jan, look what happened with Rudd when he pulled out Winks and Vesterguard, it's probably coming from the top

You could easily be right on that, either way, he's still actively choosing to play a way the players cannot play very well.

Most of them only know the Enzo way and have not bothered since he left, we also lost 6 first team players and are left with the less good ones
