Yup but if a new manager comes in he will play Soumare as well and all the other senior players and the youth players will be set back even further as now with such poor performances he could easily start giving them more minutes.

He's ****ing crap. I can't get particularly enthusiastic about calling for his head because the players and his superiors are also ****ing crap but, regrettably, we can't realistically sack the whole squad or the board, and if we don't change something I'm increasingly confident we're going to be in deep shit even without a points deduction. The team is getting worse with every game that passes and the rest of the division seems to have finally worked out they've got absolutely nothing to be afraid of when they play us. The same low-risk, no-reward football every week, the likes of Nelson, Aluko and Evans not even making the squad while the players in their positions drop stinker after stinker. What positive effect is he actually having on the club?

 

Of course the depressing thing is that you know it'd be Martin/Carrick/O'Neil replacing him but I've never thought the "yes he's doing a bad job but the next person might do a worse one" defence of a manager is a compelling one.

He is doing a worse job than he did for QPR (ppg)

Yet he gets a pass by many for inheriting “such a shit squad”

 

A squad that he is making worse week by week, 12-1 favourites by many bookies at the start of the season who also factored in a possible points deduction

He gave Page 2 games and then banished him to the u21s for no reason

 

Silko Thomas has played 57 minutes, he is also literally older than Jordan James and had 0 goals 2 assists in League 1 last season, hardly the most inspiring choice to try and freshen things up

Who do you want to come in then ? that will play the youth ?

 

Any new manager will be playing the exact same players and the youth will be set back further.

There are lots of managers that actually play youth??? You are acting like every manager is forced to pick the shitters, if Cifuentes wanted to to play youth he could do, he chooses not to because he doesn't want to

 

Realistically just about anyone could do as well as Cifuentes is anyway so it doesn't matter, worst case scenario we are just as shit as now

It's a weird thing to berate not playing the youth, yet complain that he played the wrong 'type' of youth - especially the one with more senior experience.

 

To a degree, i think this has become a bit of distraction. With Page away and Ramsey injured, there was no one in the academy that was going to take the midfield spot Soumare took today. It was a horrific choice Marti ended up taking. It was either that or bring Ayew in as a 10 and let James play his box to box role, especially as Bobby has just come back from injury. So there you are, you are the manager and your choices are Soumare or Ayew. I think with the lack of Monga he chose for Ayew to be backup for the wingers today and that pushed him into this decision.

 

Its all well and good complaining at the manager, but his midfield choices included Skipp, Ayew, Booby and Soumare. And there are still posters in here who think we have the best squad in the league. When WInks isn't on it, life is horrific in our Midfield. 

 

And dont get me started on strikers.

Still got no idea what his philosophy is. Couldn’t tell you how we’re meant to be playing. 
 

Zero pressing. Midfield gets exposed so often, wingers are isolated, get counted so easily, create nothing I could go on. 
 

“Attacking non stop football” that was his words.

We are shit, we have a shit owner, a shit DoF, and a shit squad, but we also have a shit manager who is making the squad even worse

 

The only one of those that can easily be changed is the manager, so let's stop defending the clown and focus on what improvements can be made

The system is the problem.

 

We have the players for a 3-5-2 (or variation of) and we are persisting with a formation that does not suit us.

 

Our strikers have ONE goal all season and yet he hasn’t realised that all 3 play better in a front 2. 
 

We’ve had trouble at centre back all season - if you haven’t got 2 to play in a back 4 go to a 3.

 

Lack of players out wide, play 2 rather than 4. 
 

IT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

That’s just not true, and IF there is any dictat from the board, it’s not like the manager has carte blanche to play exactly who he wants. Not excusing Marti, he needs to be doing better, but to suggest it’s easier to do better feels a bit assumptive.

pointless changing the manager we tried that twice already we need to move the clown players on like Faes

Promote the youth and all will be forgiven. Nothing will change in terms of results until the board goes or at worst reshuffles properly. How much worse would we realistically have been if Henry Cartwright played for us as much as soumare has this season? Nelson, aluko and Evans all need to play or he can go for me

We don't have a wing back to our name that isn’t made out of corn flakes and/or is athletic enough cover enough ground, how is a back three possibly a solution lol
