I think it's the time for an experienced head. The problem is the experience mentioned are old school. That wont work to well with modern players. Nowadays it's a Carrot and Stick approach with a bit of cop on. But it might work to keep us up.

Difficult to blame Marti for that as he came in so late. But Kingy was taking the lead at early pre-season training, so I'm not convinced he's even a short-term option. I disagree, throughout pre season I thought we looked fit and played with a high intensity it’s as the season has progressed and Marti’s influence has taken hold that fitness levels look to have declined. 1

Maresca wasn’t thrown into the middle of a relegation scrap—he had the whole of preseason and the best squad in the division to work with. He was also a very experienced and charismatic coach who had worked at the highest level. We don’t have anybody remotely like him at the club at the moment.

True, Maresca is an elite Coach and many people believe he was the Brains behind Man city success . not doscounting Peps influence either. 1

Guest BlueApple Posted 25 January Posted 25 January If it's Andy King, there's an interesting article about the Welsh FA Course, which is considered one of the best in the world, which has "400 applicants for 20 [Pro Licence] places every two years" and he was selected, which is a good sign at least. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c2d567xj7jeo

It seems to me that if, with our straitened funds etc, we'll have trouble interesting anyone, then we could look at managers who like to bring on youth ... Point out our amazing crop of youngsters coming through from all age groups, and our second-to-none training facility. The bonus is we might get someone in who genuinely tries to integrate our youths as quickly as is possible. I'd like to see our first team training flooded with our best young prospects. It would be easier to prioritise fitness training (sorely needed), the youngsters wouldn't be so tainted by our septic older pros because they wouldn't be outnumbered by them, and it would spur on the recalcitrants to redouble their efforts to shape up (at threat of being dropped) and to show more commitment. Just to add .... this sort of approach, concentrating on the youth in this way would probably give Kingy the best chance of succeeding. I can't see him commanding respect from the tossers in the squad.
