Turned things around for 6 months with some good performances and team spirit, but went to shit soon after. The players and recruitment staff he identified to bring in were mostly useless. There's a reason he's a journeyman.

If he managed to have that initial impact with us playoffs here we come :scarf:

A lot of Wolves fans I know rate Vitor and feel the rug was pulled from underneath him when they sold the likes of Cunha and Ait-Nouri and didn't re-invest the money. So the performances before he was sacked were largely out of his control.
But then he started getting in the face of angry fans after games and the club had no choice other than to sack him
So in summary, managing here will be same shit different club in regards to investment!

He's quite a fiery character and has had fallings out at previous clubs, so maybe it works for a while but players stop responding to it.

Certainly had your players fired up at our place last season, aided by Danny Ward, obvs.

I'm all for a mystery boat-load of Mendes loot-box type signings. It'll be like the Casino Jimmy and Sergio Hellings days.

Vitor would be a good pick from the names mentioned, GERRIMIN

Sounds perfect, get him in

We only have two fit centre backs! :teehee:

Vesty, Okoli and Thomas at left sided centre back

We need an initial impact as for long term not too fussed atm, main thing is to get the playoffs this season if he does that and we end up getting promoted it would be amazing.

Seemed to play 3 at the back often at Wolves.

I don't think that would be bad tbh. https://www.premierleague.com/en/news/4288351

I think Vitor is no better than O'Neill people just think he's better because he Portuguese. Really he is a Portuguese version of Rowett or Coleman, still shit.

Watch people on here be more OK with this ahead of Rowett😂🤦‍♂️

What are the reasons we should we be happier with Rowett? Just curious really I'm not  for or against either manager

Vitor has a better win percentage than Gary O'Neil?

You seriously want to trust somebody with zero managerial experience, and not even that much coaching experience, with guiding our mentally fragile, horribly underperforming squad through a very tough relegation battle? Can you explain why you think King is the best person for that job?

Not to mention he's already part of the management team that the players have given up on and downed tools with. We need someone with a completely fresh approach that doesn't know the players and won't take any crap from them.

King is too ingrained in the malaise that's set through the squad so we need someone to come in and set a light under these dossers.

His favoured 3-4-3 relies heavily on wing backs of which we have zero capable or in Alukos case, ready.

Just play wingers there I reckon. None of our defenders can defend anyway.

Championship experience of which Vitor has zero.

Vitor is of the Mendes variety.

I just struggle to see why some would be happy with VP for 5 months but don’t want Rowett for the same timescale😂

Did Enzo have any championship experience prior to managing us? Championship experience is a fallacy a good manager can manage at this level, I think Vitor would be far better than Rowett.

I think we should forget this 'championship experience' stuff and just get someone who will get the most out of our (on paper) excellent attacking options (once we have a striker).

Championship experience is getting the same old tired old nonsense old predictable old footballing old dinosaur old same old managers old in old business.

I don't particularly think we're in a relegation fight, we're closer to the playoffs than the relegation zone. Definition of mid table, we win 1-2 games then lose 1-2 games, throw in the occasional draw here and there. This  will obviously change based on any points deduction we get, and the club will likely have some idea of what that might be. I'm wary of just going for 'has managed a lot of teams/games in the championship and will give the players a kick up the arse' as our main metric for getting someone through the door - the last time we tried to get someone with a bit of experience in to shore things up, it was Dean Smith and we got relegated. It just smacks of a lack of confidence to me personally.

I would take someone like Pearson until the summer, provided the board were clear it was an interim job, but from what I've read they want to make a permanent appointment, which means whoever we go for is likely to be here beyond the summer.

I'd really like the owner and the board to think about what they want this football club to be, what it's identity is - and be brave and appoint a manager with a long term strategy. This experiment which started well with Rodgers and has basically seen us in decline ever since needs to end, we need a reset. I don't think appointing a firefighter is going to help us in the long run unfortunately, neither will appointing another possession merchant.

Even without a potential points deduction i'd not be confident in that statement but with something 6+ points then we are bang in trouble.

Pereira? Not for me, would stick a rocket up the players but would end up riling the fans too. Doesn’t stick around very long. Don’t have the players for his usual system. Recruits poorly.

Elements of him we need, elements of him we really don’t.
