Pearson not on Leicester list

Leicester City have not made contact with former boss Nigel Pearson as they continue their search for a new manager.

The Foxes are on the lookout for Marti Cifuentes’ replacement after he was sacked earlier this week. Fans have clamoured for the return of ex-manager Pearson but Mirror Football understands that club chiefs have not made contact regarding a second return to the King Power Stadium.

Pearson has already enjoyed two productive spells with Leicester, earning promotion from League One and the Championship. He has also worked for the club’s King Power ownership with Belgian side OH Leuven.

Pearson has been out of work since leaving Bristol City in October 2023. Andy King is set to take charge of this weekend’s clash with Charlton Athletic.

Second return!? It would be his third! Or would it be his fourth as he got sacked and then reinstated the same night?

Name 5 good ones that want to work in a scenario where a team that won the Premier League 10 years ago has no money, needs to sell players, is due a points deduction this year and probably one next year, will have no players in the summer and a recently history of abysmal recruitment.

Big Sam is not coming here.

Is that because unlikely to be transfers made here for any chance to take bribes?

Rowett has a very good record in his first 10 games when coming into a club, give him till the end of the season and see where we're at after that. I worry its too big for Kingy

Job is also too big for Rowett and the rest of those linked including a PE teacher from Lutterworth College.

The only two names linked that I can see dealing with the pressure here are Ange and Ole.

Yep, Ange is just the man to bolster our defence and stop us attempting to play high risk passes around the back with players who can’t do it 🙄

You shoot down a lot of names in your posts - Is it Hassenhutl you want from memory? there's too many posts to remember? If so, isn't happening.

A question Top should have been asked in the midst of lauding praise upon JR. We were trying to secure Marsch on a 3 year contract in April 2023 which would have rendered any back slapping about Maresca irrelevant. What DoF worth his salt has been part of a managerial chain in the last 3 years of trying to get Marsch, getting Dean Smith. A brief bright spark of Enzo, followed by Cooper/RvN/Cifuentes all in a year. Appalling.

I think the Dean Smith appointment does need to be viewed in context. Very few games remaining and probably very few options willing to take the job for that length of time. And actually if Castagne had scored from three yards against Newcastle we might not be in the mess we are. Not saying Smith was a good appointment merely we probably had few options. otherwise agree completely.

Ange would not be my choice. He seems a decent enough person but we need a real fighter/motivator for this season.

But he wins trophy’s in his second season so guaranteed league 1 champs next year 😂

Big Sam is not coming here.

Terry Venables, who joined Leeds in 2002.

.......oh, wait!

No, I've mentioned many times this season I don't advocate for anyone on the shortlist besides Ange.

Another option I'm fine with is keeping King till the summer and then bringing in a permanent manger. Much more managers will be available in the summer.

Yes and none of them will want to manage a league 1 club.

Yeah I don't want Nigel back. Unlikely to work this time. At best, he'd keep us in the division and then bugger off in summer.

Stay away and get well, Nige.

My all time fave manager here, but now is not the time for a return

King + Appleton as assistant

King as shield for the board

Appleton as in-house enforcer

Cheap and shite. Just what we need.

We are in serious peril of relegation to League One. Andy King has no experience as a manager and not very much as a coach. Are you genuinely content with handing responsibility for our survival to him?

We don’t know if king is going to be a good manager or not. He’s been involved to to coaching teams that have failed here, but still he wasn’t the main guy.

I and I’m sure all Leicester fans want him to do well and be our manager for 10 years. I can’t see it happening though.

In isolation? Of course not. In comparison to some of the names mentioned? Sure.
