Wymsey Posted 8 February Posted 8 February Why is the club quiet? Reckon there's long negotiations with a number one choice.

stu Posted 8 February Posted 8 February Pure speculation, but if it’s Martin they are after maybe he doesn’t want to take charge until after the two Saints games. 2

If Blackburn are offering him a longer deal, and he has authority over formation / playing style, why would he come here? 2

CPepFox Posted 9 February Posted 9 February 1 hour ago, CornwallFox said: What do you mean? No club in the world talks about who they're talking to until a deal is done We make deals??? Hell, I thought this was a rent a manager type situation as fast as we go through them
Popular Post Mickyblueeyes Posted 9 February Popular Post Posted 9 February (edited) I think Skubala is unlikely This is Top we are dealing with. When KP first took over and Vichai gave him the reigns, Mandaric had to hire a “better known manager” to make the club more attractive for him. Pearson left and Sousa was brought in. He then brought in Sven (Sven openly spoke about dealing with the son). Pearson’s return was led by Vichai and Whelan talking to staff. Vichai having to take over after the Sven disaster. Ranieri, Puel, Rodgers - a mix but led by Vichai and Whelan - Rodgers rumoured to have been lined up months before he came in. Top - Smith as a desperate choice. Maresca to play like Man C. Cooper being the only manager he proactively sacked. Rvn for the aura. Cifeuntes over seasoned championship managers like Wilder because of a PowerPoint and because he came from Barcelona. I cannot see this fool happily taking on a manager from Lincoln City. He won’t like it. Edited 9 February by Mickyblueeyes 9
Claudio Fannieri Posted 9 February Posted 9 February Just my opinion but really don’t think Rowett will work with us, as others have said his successes have been with clubs of very different profiles to ours. I cannot see him getting a tune out of this group. Paul Heckingbottom and Alex Neill are doing amazing jobs at PNE and Millwall but I think both would tank here. Horses for courses and we need someone who can come in and command respect I just dont see Rowett as that man. 3

So then my question would be, why did they start these unofficial talks BEFORE they sacked Marti, so they had an idea of who would be available. At least get an idea that someone wants the job and what they are asking. 2 weeks+ to get a replacement is just not a way to run a football club. They are too reactionary and not proactively planning. Again this will reek of incompetence. Edited 9 February by fox_favourite 1
Winstonthedog Posted 9 February Posted 9 February Rudkin needs to know his place and Pearson would leave him in no doubt where that is and put him firmly in it

Best going for someone with some substance than a twat in a cardigan This is what we suspected and the reason why we were vocal at the end of our premier league season when he was linked. We don't want Rylan as much as you, if not more as we've seen it up front and personal . Off topic, what are your thoughts on Danny Rohl? We all wanted him here instead of Farti Marti.

But its exactly the kind of disaster our incompetent board will allow.

Pliskin Posted 9 February Posted 9 February What’s happened is. Top has sent an Email, text, Watsapp, DM and Facebook message to Enzo, all of which are unread……. He will keep sending them and then keep leaving voicemails until March, where he will then appoint Brussel Martin because he is a bit similar….
Mike Oxlong Posted 9 February Posted 9 February Interesting read re an out of the box appointment https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11680/13503655/middlesbrough-head-coach-kim-hellberg-has-taken-club-to-new-levels-in-championship-promotion-race Meanwhile, we continue to slowly ponder the list of cheap and available has beens and dinosaurs 4
winteriscoming Posted 9 February Author Posted 9 February Imagine taking this long to hire someone and the likelihood is it’ll be a manager who is readily available and not at another club. Absolutely pathetic. 3

There never was a plan to replace him hence the mess we’re in now scrabbling around for a “profile” manager that aligns to Top’s top six vision. He needs to bite the bullet and get a championship manager type who can pull this lot out of the fire. Rudkin and Top’s default option was Andy King till the end of the season after which they could “relaunch” their promotion bid for 26/27 season. Problem is: 1. They haven’t told Kingy 2. They’ll be launching a promotion campaign from Div 1. Edited 9 February by oxtonfox 1
