I'm completely biased on Skubala due to the school link but as a result I have tracked what he's done with interest, and he really has done well there, he does deserve a job at this level.

I do fear it'll be the wrecking of him though.

Lincoln have the lowest possession stats in League One and are second in the table, meaning they must be very good at using the ball effectively when they get it. Sounds good to me.

And that all means nothing when Rudkin calls him in before his first game:

'So Michael, this is the formation you are going to play.......'

Biggest fear will be now he's at Leicester, his opposition are going to sit back and ask us to break them down.

Hope he knows how to open up low-blocks too.

I wouldn't mind Gerrard too much. One of (a very long list of) our problems is this pig-headed persistence on playing a style which is 10 years out of date.

I think he'd get us playing more energetic football at the very least.

I don't think that necessarily applies anymore.

The tactics is usually employed against teams where you think a point is a good result. Teams you respect.

Hopefully who ever it is actually watches our games as research once in the role.  No clean sheets, watching how they perform in training and in awe of their on paper historical achievement.

With one of the worst strike forces in the division, I don’t think we need to worry about teams setting up with low blocks.

You didn't see his Rangers team then?

Slow, passive play. Unwilling to switch things up when plan A wasn't working and my personal favourite, a reliance on his FBs for creativity and deliveries into the box.

On what basis?

Gerrard would be an utter disaster.

It's odd that the betting has been suspended when there hasn't been a strong rumour of any sorts.

From reading up on Skubala it sounds like what we have all been asking for- fluid, will change shape even in a game itself and plays aggressive pressing football. Not fair at all to judge him for being a former teacher, everyone needs to start somewhere. Sarri was a banker and an amateur footballer

He was also England Futsal manager

Skubala would be wise to take the job on a financial (unless we have changed our approach to contracts) and geographical basis.

Career-wise, he should stay well away. We are an extremely difficult club to manage both above and below.

Gerrard with Beale would be better than without.

Be a bit of a backwards step for Beale after managing 2 championship clubs and Rangers. Only become assistant again because of the shit load of money up for grabs in Saudi, that wouldn’t be the case here.

He was favourite for the Oxford job the other month.
