Agree on this. And picking up on your previous point, I don't necessarily think it's all luck whether a manager succeeds. Some managers just fit.

On that point, I think the OGS vibes are perfect for us. There's just something right about him for us. The slight element of misfit,  of unfancied but at the same time has that against-all-odds winner about him (in a similar way to MON)

Sure and when OGS fails we go for Rooney and Mark Hughes just to say we've given every Ex Man U striker a shot.

4th in the National League is not a decent job for Carlisle. Just saying

Now that’s what you call an ambitious appointment

Not sure we could afford the compensation due, but Tim Flowers is doing a middling to poor job at Bromsgrove Sporting.  Currently 16th in the Southern League Premier Central.

Links to the club though...

I’d rather we let King have it to the end of the season than hire the wrong person.

If the right manager to take us forward isn’t available, I don’t want to be bringing in another pointless candidate from our limited pool.

So you would rather give it the wrong person till the end of the season then give to a pointless candidate? Andy king is not the man to keep us up, surly  there is a better candidate out there who can get more out the team then king?

I don’t think there would be a big difference to our results between king and many of the names I’ve seen touted.  It’s hard to judge him based on what we’ve seen so far because of the brain rot at the club. But I do think he can motivate this group and would do everything to drag us to safety.

No, he's not, they're struggling to get into the Playoffs in the National League. With their resources (American money and great attendances for that League) and mainly keeping a decent squad, relegated from the EFL (under Hughes), they should be doing much better.

I hope your right, but to me I can’t see king being a very good motivator, but like you said I don’t think Alex Ferguson would get motivation out of this spineless team

Because we literally haven't got a pot to pee in they are waiting until King wins his first match and then they will announce him.  (Even though King doesn't want it).

We might be waiting a while lol

I think the way football has changed means someone like king has a place in management. It’s less abusive and more about man management, kingy is a very likeable guy. The players will want to do well for him, that I’m sure of.  Tactically it’s obviously completely unknown, but he seems a smart guy and I’d trust him to at least have a solid system even if more simplistic.

one things for sure, if he has any chance of getting the job we need to see a good showing tonight. If it’s more of the same dross we’ve seen all season then we obviously need to accept a more drastic appointment will be needed.  We are in a hard spot because the type of manager we need, would be a rebuilder… but the window is closed. So in the short term we need someone who is just going to get the best out of what we have. Someone coming in and sending vesty and winks and any other big bollock around the place to the reserves isn’t helpful… because we need someone who can get short term buy in and will utilize what we have, even if they are all toxic morons. That’s why I think someone like king does work, because we need all hands on deck at this point. I love giving youth a chance but when we get closer to the crunch, it’s not a good environment for them (other than certain rare personalities) so some of the established pros will be needed even if we hate them

Would love to hear a KPFC defence of the decision-making processes at LCFC.

- Waiting until early July to sack RVN despite having about four months before that to prepare for the Championship

- Waiting another two weeks to appoint Cifuentes, just three weeks before the start of the season

- Leaving it four months (and counting) without a chief executive after Susan Whelan's departure

- Promising in early November that Rudkin would move to a new role and a technical director be appointed, then nothing happening

- Sacking Cifuentes and failing to appoint a new manager for 16 days (and counting)

Appalling mismanagement of our football club.

There isn't any, because this is an ongoing issue. Mistake after mistake after mistake and yet those responsible aren't accountable or are kept in role to continue making the same cock ups.

Anyone else finding it hard to care who the next manager is? It won't change a thing imo, the club is rotten whilst being run by these frauds

Yep, we wont get lucky again like we did with Enzo. Be near on impossible for anyone to succeed in this cesspit

Majority here seemed happy with Cifuentes too, and look how that turned out.

Sometimes, it is just luck whether a Manager clicks with a club and squad or not.

Not to say that we should just appoint anyone, but I do find it strange that people are so willing to lambast others who have a different opinion/vision of what might or might not work.

Personally, I am not keen on hiring Rowett, but he may just click here.

Im not convinced anyone can get a real tune out of the current squad. Rowett is known to set up a defence well and would be the one reason I'd probably go with him for now. Problem is to get him on a short term deal when he may have offers from Blackburn.

He's got the personality to get the players on side for a bit too I reckon which it seems is key for our current squad. I'm not convinced by him but would rather OGS than Martin or Gerrard.

I wouldn't mind OGS if he had Mike phelan and co on his set up

Has he succeeded anywhere as a manager outside of Norway? I don't understand why people want him.
