Anyone else finding it hard to care who the next manager is? It won't change a thing imo, the club is rotten whilst being run by these frauds

This 100%

When the team performs badly, the fans are quick to criticise the players and the manager (with justification), but the team has been a shambles through about a half dozen managers (I absolutely believe Maresca was a lucky appointment, but even his team limped over the line).

Those poor team performances are a symptom.  The cause is firmly at boardroom level but fans spend time and energy trying to get the manager out and the board are a side issue.  The whole thing is on a rinse and repeat cycle.

Top either needs to sell up and walk away, or employ actual competent people and leave them to run it.

Time to pick a manager, stick with them and focus attention on real and meaningful change at the club.

So let's talk about Dean Smith. He seems to be firmly in place at Charlotte FC - a club owned by a billionaire - David Tepper - who has more money than God. Why would he leave a relatively comfortable job where he's well paid - for this train wreck?

Just keep King at this point - you'll get the same results and won't have to pay yet another manager's salary.  This club is rotten to the core right now and is not at all an attractive job for any manager looking to advance his career.

Maybe he can bring David Tepper with him to buy out Top

My guess is that any prospective manager interviewing for the job will have his concerns about long term security and structure answered by Top saying that a new DOF, CEO, CFO, MOFO are imminent and the club is working hard to get back on track. I mean they have to spin in positively and that’s how you do it. Maybe those candidates will be privy to even more inside information than what we’ve been told?

we will slowly learn more once candidates have been interviewed or approached that how we’ll get a better idea. I think it will be dean smith for some funny reason.

question: has top paid off all the managers he’s sacked including Marti?

Being closer to home is the only thing that makes sense there.

We're in a sort of Cellino/Hockaday situation where we're such a farce the only managers that will take the role are just grateful for an opportunity magnitudes greater than their ability.

Cifuentes was arguably an example of this already. Managers mostly aren't thick, their agents will be well connected.

Southgate will not come here.

If he ever decided to come back to club management, it would be his choice as to when that happens and he would comfortably land a top half prem job.

We couldn't afford a fraction of his wage demands and if we could, that would raise serious questions over the last few transfer windows.

Has he succeeded anywhere as a manager outside of Norway? I don't understand why people want him.

Tbf he actually did well at man united until they forced Ronaldo into the mix

It's going to be announced at half time where Enzo walks out wrapped in an Italian flag, or will walk on as Filbert and reveal himself.

Nearly right....he will be riding an elephant, draped in a Thai flag and being sucked off by a Buddhist monk (Enzo...not the elephant)

Yet most of this forum is turning its nose up at Steven Gerrard? Either we're nose diving towards league one and admin in some eyes, or we're above appointing a manager that's won a title and has managed in the premier league, never mind his playing career.

Which one is it? (not aimed specifically at you by the way @Stadt)

We won;t appoint anybody with a reasonable track record. Gerrard could have his pick of several better jobs than ours that will come up

Yeah agreed, that's why I find some of the nose turning a bit baffling. Beggars can't be choosers... and we are most definitely at the point of begging now.
