Yeah 31 shots , most of which ended up in the river 😉

That was very hit n hope, against wolves ....

Even we might scrape a draw with wolves, I'm even sticking my neck out on a clean sheer.

Forest took 2 corners that went out of play, that's school football

😉

We’d scrape a draw with wolves? Why can’t we do that with anyone else then. We’ve not had 30 shots in one game this season.

But the point is he wont see himself as a lower end Championship manager fighting a relegation battle.

He will still believe there are PL teams waiting for him at the right time. Next season there will be 3 new ones waiting to pull the trigger.

But I wasn't suggesting that - I was answering the statement from Drain the Swamp that said 'If we have aspirations of getting back there in three or four years, he's not the one.' I agree with you that I don't think he'd come here, but if he did, I think he would get us back there sooner than 3 or 4 years. He probably would struggle to keep us up, however.

No manager

No CEO

No technical director

What a ****ing mess.

Almost 3 weeks without a manager, coaches and GK coach during this period.

So damaging.

The problem for me isn't that Dyche would reject us. It's that Aiyawatt would reject him.

That sums up the problem.

If we’d have equalised against Oxford or the Nepo baby wasn’t over for that game Cifuentes would’ve stayed wouldn’t he?

Quite obviously weren’t planning on sacking him. Although they could’ve quite easily been planning to sack him but forgot to have someone else lined up.

Surely lots of managers who back themselves would take a deal until the end of the season with a decent survival bonus?

Not sure that's even looking at it through blue-tinted glasses. Plus I don't think it would even hurt a manager's reputation that much if we did go down - Just chalk it up to us being too far gone.

There are still upsides to us as well (I think!). Get lucky with Summer recruitment and getting players out and next season is a fresh start.

The manager we should have got right at the outset ,prior to relegation ,was Dyche ,just go get him now even if its till the end of the season we need the stability and experience. He is also local and will understand what it means to the club.

I just asked ChatGPT who we should appoint.

My Recommendation
If stability and survival are the overriding concerns (and they should be), the optimal appointment would be:

Ralph Hasenhüttl — immediate, experienced, and tactically sound

Gary Rowett — pragmatic, proven in the Championship

Russell Martin — progressive with potential for long-term growth

These choices balance the need to stay up now with the prospect of building toward eventual promotion

After being sacked from two jobs in just over a year, Dyche needs to plan his next move carefully. If he goes somewhere else and doesn't succeed, it will begin to look like he's a busted flush whose methods worked at one club at a particular time, but can't be replicated elsewhere. Why would he want to risk what remains of his reputation on a basket case club like ours? A job at a more stable club with better prospects will come up eventually for him.

Why will he just take a contract until the end of the season? He will be negotiating severance from Forest and will be getting paid out for a fair chunk of that whilst not working, and there will be clubs willing to give him a 3 year contract.l soon.

The list of managers willing to take a 13 game contract for a team 4th from bottom of the championship is very, very small.

Even if Dyche wanted to come. We don't have the squad that will work for him. Our squad is built with 'nice' players not fighters. We cant bring any new players in. Get it out your head now, we're f**ked.

Dyche is damaged goods now. I don't see him getting another Premier League job.

His best bet is to drop down to the Championship.

Personally, I think Leicester are perfect for him.

It is very rare for a Manager to jump straight into another job within days/weeks though.

I suspect he will wait until the Summer and then take a playoff hopeful club in this league.

Nailed it. It would have to be a huge amount of money for a 3 month bet. And we don't have that money. And the odds aren't great. None of the guys like Dyche have any need to take that on. They don't need a temporary job to fill in and pay the bills! They'll realise that the owner and DoF are impossible to work for and there's no transfer budget.

The only realistic manager who is going to be interested will be one who doesn't mind managing in League 1 but with ambitions to get us promoted and back to the Championship and put that on their cv, or if we survive, want to establish their credentials at managing at a Championship club. So a present Championship manager but not one at the top end (why waste the potential chance of going up to the PL to go back to us) or one for whom having Championship manager on their cv (even if briefly) is a step up - so lower leagues or from abroad who wants to break into the EFL.

Honestly should've just stuck by Marti at this point...

At this point we should have stuck with Cooper.
