Must be something about the name Brendan/on. Starts positively, breath of fresh air but fans are bored/ tired of them after three years.

Think it’s time to move on from Wood

Been thinking ahead to next summer - feels like there might be some transition.

Been wondering who will come in for Crawley as I cant see him lasting - Haines or Mckinney seem the most obvious but Hameed must have a shout with his record.

Gay must have a chance too but Bethell seems the chosen one.

I'm shocked they haven't gone for Hull over Fisher.

The chance to just have something different in the attack, a left armer, mix things up a bit.

Fisher has played 56 FC matches in 12 years lol

From a selfish Leicestershire point of view, I'm glad. Don't want his confidence to be destroyed by entering the tour at this stage.

No they'll probably do worse and shove him in at 4-0 down in Sydney lol

Yeah, if they throw him in there now he's just going to get Kerrigan'd. That would be pretty awful.

I presume that was a pre planned move maybe ?

Doesn’t look good for Bashir as you suggest.

I don't think Bashir has a county contract, currently.

Seems like Leach is out of favour.

Not sure who's next on the rank ?

Weird to put all that time into Bashir with the Ashes in mind then not use him when it comes to it. What's changed? They not like what they've seen recently in the nets or just over-estimated how much they'll need a spinner so just packing the batting instead.

Rehan or someone like Carson at Sussex, if they wanted a sensible option actually based on a mixture of form, talent, potential and batting/fielding ability chucked in.

In reality, who knows if any of the current regime or their methods survive this.

What's changed is they've shat the bed with him after realising too late that he was well undercooked as a cricketer for a series like this.

Apparently he hasn't looked great in the nets over there, either.

I'd love to know the thought process in thinking Bashir was going to be the solution to this Ashes?

He has certain "traits" their looking for like a "high release point", tall and generates bounce on a flat wicket.

It was a big gamble and not playing for a county has hampered his development and not sure where he goes from here.

Odd decision my the management which appears to have backfired.
