No way back I'm afraid.

The screen can't be repaired or replaced because of compatibility issues.

It's cheaper to buy a new TV than any attempt to repair it.

Maybe your home insurance would cover it.

It's not damaged no cracks or splits. Was hit with a tea towel

I had to replace a TV that had been hit with something thrown up whilst hoovering and the screen was all pixelated in one corner and the rest was black.

I sought advice from one of the very few TV repairers I could find and he said if it's the screen, it can't be fixed because its a sealed unit. A software fault or pcb issue could be potentially repaired. Not a screen

I'm only commenting from my personal experience.

Unfortunately, from what I've been told when I had a similar issue, once the pixels within the screen get damaged even without visible damage to the screen it's beyond repair.

Pixels are very fragile and even a simple hit with a tea towel can cause them to fail.

You may be able to fix a stuck pixel, which is a pixel that is always on and shows a single color, but fixing a dead pixel, which is always black, is very difficult and often not possible without replacing the screen.

Just say it's faulty and get it fixed under warranty.

Going to say deny all knowledge just say you turned it on and it was like that.

This would be my route. 6 months old must still be under guarantee.

Unless there was a back of lorry involved in the sale.

I don't think modern TV screens are designed to be whacked with anything lol

Just claim on your house insurance under accidental damage, assuming you have it on your policy

That was remarkably honest of you.  Did they have your details first?

If I saw a fly reading a book I'd leave it alone TBF

I'm conflicted, a fly reading a book would be fascinating and a major scientific discovery but on the other hand if it's reading a book who knows what it's planning and it's probably best dead.
