Thomas & O'Hara next game please.

Ran out of post so can't reply to comments.

I have said Thomas because theres absolutely no way hes changing both CB's.

Personally,  I would bin them both for next game, wont happen.

Realistically it will be Souttar who starts with possibly O'Hara.

No chance he changes both CB's.

Once again a low bar but Thomas was the pick of the back four, I wouldn’t want to see him back at fullback but Macfarlane was poor today, just hoofs over his head and they were in.

He looks like he's being penetrated by a shire horse, prances around like a lame shire horse, and he absolutely doesn't want to be anywhere near this team.

Captain of Australia? Wow. Barwell Town would probably think twice about signing this lump.

Very specific analogy, there...

He's just not a very good defender. Just because he's massive, people assume he'll be good, but unless he's just standing there and heading the ball away, he's league 2 quality.

The goal against notts county and the first one yesterday are prime examples of teams exploiting his mobility. Get the winger in behind and he can't keep up with the striker in the middle

He can't pass hes slow as shit and he doesnt care

1st choice and captain 👌

Exactly why he should have been sold when we were offered £7.5 million supposedly from Wrexham. He will leave on a free when his contract expires.

Think he would be far better in a back 3 or a back line that isn’t suicidally high. See a world where the new owners sack Martin and he becomes one of our better performers

edit- if Martin is staying he has to consider dropping him if he can’t keep up with the line etc

Yeah it was actually really scary and all too predictable to see him exploited for his reduced mobility. Better organisation would help, but he looks like a player who isn’t sharp enough for league 2. And there’s a strong likelihood he’s devastated he didn’t leave. Which just takes us back to the problem we’ve had for years is that players don’t want to be here.

I agree regards Thomas. Too weak and positioning is poor. With the right partner and playing the right style Souttar will be fine.

With Thomas, they seem to end up scoring from whereever he is playing. Last year we seemed to let in an inexcusable amount of goals coming of the left. Yesterday 2 were from the centre of our defence!

There we go with the saying league one quality. These games so far have shown me that beyond the premier the quality is the same down the pyramid until you get to the part timers. All our games so far could’ve been Championship games as far as I can see, but maybe that’s because this poor playing style makes it appear so.

I think Soutter is suited to a low block where we defend deeply. When the game is open like yesterday he gets exposed all the time. Time for Kangasniemi and O'Hora to start. That's if they are ready, fit and considered good enough. I think Thomas only started yesterday as a reward for 2 clean sheets and is clearly not a centre back. Lundstrum and Riis will help with physicality. The young players have talent but not toughness. Yet.

I’d much rather see Faes starting than this idiot

Hate to say this but I think we're going have to go with O'Hara and ..... Faes.

@hfaes - all forgiven?  New fresh start?

We literally posted this at the same time!

He's a backs against the wall defender, some on here are still harping back to that Newcastle game. He's not a progressive passer which is what we're after, and we need pace next to Vestergaard. There's 3 reasons. He'd suit a team like Sheff Utd or Everton.

Useless ****ing footballer. Unless a ball is lumped at his head he has nothing positive to him. Slow lumbering wreck the same as his centre back partner.

Even shit when that happens half the time he dont try to header it

This hasn’t been commented on enough.

He was a statue (again) for their first goal.

Awful defender, who only has a slightly better profile than Faes because he was either shipped out or injured.

We should have moved him on, when we had the chance.

Glad you brought that up as I was bored of people just referring to that one game (Newcastle). Your post is probably spot on about him.
