The clue is in the number. an 8 plays in the hole or behind the Striker on the right which used to be called an inside right.  But systems have changed.

A 10 similar on the left. But a lot depends on the sytem being used.  Where they play depends on where the ball is as players are expected to do more these days.

Are you joking or do you really think this?

We kept Wes Hoolahan and Grant Holt quiet today. Thats a big step in the right direction

Remember Hoolahan scoring against us a few years ago with a header at the KP.........He must have been the smalest player on the pitch!

Papering over the cracks, just about beating a properly crap team, and looked fairly poor for most of the game.

Marti should still be sacked in my opinion, still trying to go about a way that isn’t working. Essentially two tramps fighting over a bag of chips.

Yeah but we got the chips!

Well maybe you'll enighten me I'm always willing to learn.

A six is a cdm/holding midfielder

an eight is a box to box midfielder who plays just ahead of the six. You can have eights who are limited to one side of the pitch or more central.

a ten is an attacking midfielder who usually plays in the space between the midfield and attack and tends to not be limited to any area of the pitch.

under Enzo we player with winks as the six and wilf/kdh as the eights - wilf on the right and kdh on the left. We didnt play with a ten

under marti we tend to play with two holding sixes, and either one eight breaking ahead of them or one ten behind the striker.

I don't think I've ever seen this forum so miserable after winning a game lol

This is exactly what it felt like to win under Cooper. This win hinders the team in the long run, because it keeps a shit manager from QPR still in a job.

I think the only contribution I can make here without adding fuel to the fire is that the cracks that some say are being papered over pre-existed Cifuentes, and that it takes a while to slow a tanker headed for the rocks down, let alone turning it round.

I'm not in a position to say if he's good enough or otherwise, but I'm not sure anyone else would be much better.

The is some consensus that a weaker version of one of the worst PL teams ever should be romping the championship. It’s as if posters have never seen this bunch play before.

It’s going to take a few windows to sort this rabble out. Marti clearly gives a crap. Part of me thinks he’s got about as much out of these @&@& as anyone can.

You do realise the same people who will appoint the next manager also gave Cooper, RVN and Cifuentes the job right? Try to understand that nothing changes by simply sacking this manager

Well, I, for one, am very happy. My team won. Who cares about anything else? I also think a shed load of single malt,  a damn good film and not coming on here much in the last three hours may have helped.

Which took 6 points from Southampton and 4 points from Ipswich.

So clearly there was a gap between us and the other two last season.

Had Wolves not had their ridiculous manager bounce winning 6 games in a row, the narrative would be different.

Im one of the most ardent anti King Power posters here, but it doesn't mean I protect a crap manager from getting the sack.

Marti has not shown anything on the pitch for fans to get behind.

Where is this "attacking football" he promised?

Where is the "high press" he promised?

He has not stuck to his principles.
