Those stats are largely due to the fact that we gifted Derby the initiative by choice in the second half and played the last half hour in our own half when the game was won.

I hate the tactic and we got away with it, but we outclassed Derby until we decided to declare.

Agreed, but were not gonna score 100% of our chances most games.

Lovely win and I enjoyed it, but its not a "were back baby!" performance

No chance Skipp goes- not sure exactly how PSR works, but wouldn't it likely end up being a massive loss against the accounts given what we paid for him? On top of that, he's just starting to find his feet and deserves a run in the side.

The other two, absolutely. Time is clearly up for them both here.

Didn’t mean Skipp tbf. Fvcked it up.

Enjoyable watch for a change. Ruthless first half, and I thought generally well managed second half. Abdul looks like he needs a rest, played a lot of football after a long time out. Gave the ball away a lot second half. Thought Silko had his best cameo by far off the bench. Nelson solid, and I thought some of the ‘usual suspects’ (Vestergaard, Thomas et al.) had good performances as well. Props to Skipp as well. Not a £25m player by any stretch, but he does work hard. Him and James together worked well today.

First time posting on here. Ben Nelson’s performance made me want to add to the thread, its the first time I’ve seen a truly standout player performance this season (just my opinion), one that gives hope for the future of this club. As a fan you hope that sentiments like this channel back to the team which of course is daft but I suppose that’s not the point.

Buzzing to hear Nelson was colossal, he really is a class act. Let's hope we can forget about Marti being piss weak and he now builds the team around him. Get Souttar back fully fit and hopefully get an aggressive striker in January and we'll have a bit more about us.

BLUE ARMY

He definitely always looked calm, collected and solid - and didn’t shit his pants like his predecessors may have done when conceding. Basically he always looked in control. And that for a centre half in a bad team that is a massive compliment imo.

I’ve been out for a curry and close to 10 pints tonight so he’s close to peak Maldini.

Tbh Ayew shouldn’t get any criticism today. Ge held the ball up well AND he scored an excellent goal. It’s not his fault the Lino is a boss eyed sheep shagger.

Was nowhere near James crooks on the 6 yard box. Not a striker

Ben Nelson is a cracking player. Skill had a very decent game. James was very good. First half was pretty much flawless and should have ended up 0-4.

Second half was baffling. We had them for pace up front. They had to press to try and get back in the game, and yet the instruction seems to have been just keep things tight. Poor management. Not convince by this manager one bit.

First time I've seen Leicester play live for something like 10 years.

It looked like a team with Prem experience v a team with very little prem experience, and the quality was obvious.

He gets a hard time on here, but Ayew was brilliant yesterday. Sanderson and Clarke couldn't handle him.

Skipp and James ran the midfield.

Tactically Cuifentes made a fool of Eustace, and by the time he changed it they were 3 down.

Its the 1st game Ive been to with no VAR in ages,  Id forgotten how good no VAR is.

However I had a bit of sympathy for the linesmen. I was sitting right in line with the 6 yard box and thought Ayews header was a mile offside......saw it in the concourse at ht and saw he was on.

Derby are a mid table side, without Morris they were toothless.

For a neutral it was a good day out, full noisy stadium, decent game.

Less said about East Midlands Railways the better.......

Where I am inclined to agree with you about Ayew, he perhaps unfairly gets a hard time due to his limitations up front. He lacks that out and out striker mentality and killer instinct which has been so absent since the departure of JV. An illustration of this yesterday was when he failed to hurl himself at that perfect cross JJ placed into the box across the face of goal and behind the defence, The linesman should given benefit of the doubt earlier and if then JA had flung himself at the cross, he would have had a brace. He's very much a creator and will hunt and will remorselessly chase down opportunities from deep, many of them lost causes. I admire his work rate, grit and tenacity, something that has been sorely lacking in this side. He's often reminded me of Nathan Redmond who was always awkward to play against. Like Bobby, he arrived with little in the way of adulation or fanfare, more a facepalm - and yet these are the senior players we need to rely on in our current situation as opposed to deluded overpaid, narcissistic prima donnas that think they're too good for the club.

I travelled from Liverpool and the leg to Crewe was fine, then the Crewe to Derby run was a joke. I was shocked at how many sheep botherers got on in Stoke, to the point they refused to let anyone on at Uttoxeter.

Like come on, you've got two teams to support there, go hang out with Robbie Williams at Port Vale or something, don't clog up a two-carriage train with your stinky armpits and that weird replica-shirt-over-a-parka thing they seem to do more than anyone else.

How did I forget that it was on ITV and then late back paid for a SKY Day Pass £14:99 🤦‍♂️

Good job they won or the tv would have gone out the window after I found out.

I think that's called a Senior moment. I get them myself at times.

Surely proves a point play players in their proper positions aka Skipp and you get a performance like yesterday.  Much better from him.  Great cameos from

Nelson and even Thomas.

Worry about Stolarcyz distribution it is beyond woeful.

Same team against Bristol City and Ipswich please.

Couldn't get on at Loughborough, train was packed. Had to uber to the game, £43 later.

After the game went to Nottingam for a bit of shopping and a beer. The train back was dangerously full due to 2 previously London trains cancelled.

I've done that Crewe to Derby train too many times than I care to remember, it's depressing.

We have no reason to not play like the first half again and no reason to play as negative as the second.

The first half was great, showing what they can do.

The tempo and dynamic kept changing when JV tried to take over the goal kicks or called for the backwards pass from Nelson. We don’t need to play the same tactic of walking to the halfway line and smashing the ball for Ayew/Daka to not control. It hasn’t worked once. We looked great when running with the ball and passing to a player in space, simple.

Poor in game management from Marti.  He left Ayew on for way too long.  He could’ve be bothered to chase even when he was the closest to a player. At one point he floated to the left wing and challenged Mav for a header.

Silko can run with the ball well but has poor decision making, a player is in space calling for it so that pass the thing. Maybe it was nerves/adrenaline that got the better of him.

More of the same going forwards.  fast, direct and playing as a team.
