Id like to think that we wouldn't sign him if he wasn't up for it physically, but I keep seeing Ricardo play despite his legs being completely gone and can not perform at his previous level.

If he comes in an has the same impact Carranza had, weve not lost anything, but I imagine his wages will be significantly higher than Carranza's.

Its his wages that could be the problem

A post car crash Antonio really isn't getting paid premier League money, not sure why so many are convinced his wages are an issue

Would be an absolute disaster and the last thing we should be doing.

Therefore guaranteed to happen.

Do we not bother with scouting anymore?

Given we have no money, what's your solution for our striker problem?

I'm not a scout or running our recruitment department so how would I know.

It won't be this though.

this is wha scraping the bottom of the barrel looks like when you have a ton of financial issues..

if you know of any team willing to let a 15-20 goals a season striker join us in the January window for free, I’d love to know about them..

Rudkin running the show we’ve seen his skills at paying well over the top for crap players

Antonio is nowhere near as bad as some of the signings we've made in the recent past that actually cost a lot of money in fees and wages.

If he's willing and even partially able, then he's absolutely worth a shot.

I mean he has been here nearly a month, apparently was fit already.

We had a shit ton of games some without a striker and he wasn’t utilised. There isn’t even anything credible to suggest he will be signing apart from the cancellation of a dog shit striker on loan that would’ve been terminated irrespective of the fact Antonio is training with us.

Let’s face it he’s not going to be any worse than the shit we’ve up top already

Once crunching tackle could suggest otherwise, let’s hope it’s not a year contract if he was signed

He has been here ages. If we were signing him, why wouldn't we do as soon the window opened so that he was eligible for these games?

Could’ve anyway as he was a free agent before the previous window finished

Even if Antonio doesn't score a load of goals, i still feel he'd contribute more than our current strikers. Even if it means a defender or 2 has to keep an eye on him to stop Fatawu getting double and tripled up on. I think his movement could give opposition defender something to think about, which is something none of our strikers have done this season.

I know there are smart arses who will say things like, what else can we do with our striker situation etc. it’s a bit daft. As someone else has  said, his “prime” was a 10 goal a season striker. He is well past it.

It’s a permanent signing. Whether that be short term or not, that is still money out the door. Just like Edouard and Carranza. It’s cost money to do things and money we don’t have.

This sort of signing takes absolutely 0 scouting. Nothing. We’ve shown with James this year, there are loans out there potentially. With the short sums we do have, it’s disapointing this is what we have to offer from a department that has nothing to do for two windows. They were scouting Oliver Skipp in the window before that.

Im very critical of Glover and his record but I’m now even questioning if he is making any recommendations. Our recruitment is so erratic. Young talent to development re: James, Fatawu, Bilal and Facundo. And then all of a sudden, a Ayew or an Antonio. Feels like we have a bi polar recruitment team.

if it’s manager led, Cifeuntes should be told to do one if he thinks Antonio is fixing his one shot on target per game stat.

it’s completely fine to be disappointed with this if it does come through. It’s another body yes but it’s very fair to assume that is all it will be.
