He's so young and untested that ultimately the next few years of his life will define him and he isn't there yet. He could absolutely come in and start every game from now til the end of the season as a 9. Equally, the club could think Jordan Ayew is doing a good enough job leading the line and that our priority is replacing Ramsey because of his injuries and the intent is to play him at 10 instead of our own youngster. We'll find out over the coming weeks, I guess.

There will be no good sending him back when we can’t get anyone else in, we’d have to make do. Whereas we could give ourselves the best chance and sign a capable goalscorer, bit like Southampton just have really.

No one's going to gift us a recognised goal scorer on loan. Even for someone out of favour they'd be a chunky loan fee.

We need somebody to fill that gap and we're going to need somebody we can afford who is willing to come to us. We are not a particularly attractive propositionat the moment. If Aribo does come I trust he will be better than either of our present incumbents. Surely you cannot be more ineffective. Every week I seem to see other teams with strikers I have never heard of doing a better job. Couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag - no threat on the ground and none in the air, we desperately need someone and if it has to be Aribo I hope it works out. Just because he's crap at one club doesn't necessarily mean he can't do a job at another. 4

Didn’t say we didn’t have money issues, in fact I said hands are tied because of FFP restrictions, which indicates so. If the FFP restrictions weren’t there we would be able to go out and buy someone on permanent. Regardless of the money we have borrowed. 1
