Don’t know if they are showing the game but there was a Pub called the Vines not far off the City  centre which from memory has or should I say had mulipe screens showing different games.

Starting lineup

Lascelles

Richards

Mukasa

Aribo

Plus 7 others.

Everything I see suggests that Lascelles is still injured but even if that’s wrong and he is fit, starting him would be a major gamble with further  injury breakdown a real possibility , yes I know that life itself is a gamble.  Add to that that he would be so far from match fitness at best he in my mind should be on the bench.

Aribo possibly will start but I am far from sure what he will bring to the party the fact that Southampton managers ( plural) haven’t seen enough in him and it’s not as if Saints squad couldn’t do with a midfielder. Like Lascelles effectively walking away from the remaining time left in their contracts suggests to me that they are playing for a LC contract in 26/7.

Richards is stepping up from Chelsea’s U21. He may or may not be a revelation but can LCFC really afford to  almost be acting as a development club at this stage of proceedings ?  Not so sure Chelsea are even remotely happy with his progress indeed he wasn’t even in the squad when their U21 played LC under 21 .
Mukasa is an interesting one. A player clearly highly thought of and for me the only loan signing I actually applaud.

Can’t bare to watch anymore. We are completely detached from our glory years period. No idea what we are now but it’s not what we were. We are still deteriorating and it’s now a case of when does the bleeding stop so we can have a proper reset. I fear the worst sadly.

You're only here for the glory!?

Anyone know why all the games start a minute later than usual, is it some sort of awareness campaign for something?

Nelson is currently our only fit centre half and he’s still very raw. We don’t have the luxury of easing Lascelles in—he’ll play. I’m not sure where Aribo would play given Skipp’s return from concussion.

Is that right? Didn't realise that. Ok that changes things!

Vestergaard was out injured last week and King's comments after the game didn't suggest he would just be missing for one game. Okoli is suspended for three games. We probably won't see much of Souttar at all this season. Choudhury, who has filled in at CB, is also now injured. Aluko was very impressive when he came on against Oxford but he's 19 years old and a full back—I'm not sure playing him alongside Nelson will appeal to King. Assuming Vestergaard doesn't make a surprise return, the only way Lascelles won't start is if he's also genuinely injured—'match fitness' won't come into it.

I think Okoli will only be out for 1 match. Isn't a 3 match ban reserved for violent conduct ?

At least we have additional options now.

Midfield will be interesting, I know we have lost Hamza for a while, but Winks, Skipp, Page, Ariboe, Mukasa and BDR give you good options.

Is Lascelles is fit or close to be he has to be in the team.

Not sure about the Lad up top, but we have been so poor in that position, I think you have to just throw him in.

I'd also play swap the keeper.

Begovic

Ricardo

Lascelles

Nelson

Aluko

Skipp

Winks

Aribo/Mukasa

Mavadidi

Richards

Fatawu

Ayew

Daka

Vestergaard

Page

Aribo/Mukasa

Monga

Stolarczyk

Thomas/Kristiansen

S. Thomas

Ah yes, I think you're right. But he won't be available this weekend, and frankly the sooner Lascelles replaces him the better.

Why are we so obsessed with playing the same formation under different managers, and only having one striker up front? Now that we have Lascelles (hopefully fit to start), we should go 3 at the back and ditch both full backs who are absolutely awful. Get a second striker up front. I genuinely feel like we would get much more out of both Ayew and Daka if they were alongside each other rather than isolated. I know they are both awful, but I think even Richards would benefit from having one of them next to him.

Because we didn't sign a striker lol

In an ideal world we'd play with two strikers but the two strikers at the club are Ayew and Daka.

He's about as much a striker as Ayew is.

The striking options at the club are now Daka & 3 guys whose best position is elsewhere.

Ayew and Richards are wingers and Mukasa is an attacking midfielder.

Carranza turned out to be poor but at least we actually got the right idea.

yeah, no problem there

I read that even u21s have to be registered if they're on loan so I wasn't sure if we were pushing it close lol

Just realised Nelson and Silko are classed as u21s so yeah should be fine.

Your best bet is The Box in Brindley Place. Pretty soulless but they absolutely loads of screens. Failing that. One of the Blues boozers around St Andrews.

Why would a game not being broadcast on TV in the UK be on in a pub in Birmingham? Surely the only way to watch the Saturday game is either being there or via dodgy stream? Which I doubt pub landlords would do.

It’s actually quite intriguing as to what King will do. I’d be surprised if he drops Winks now. I hate to say it but he was great last game. Skipp back aswell. Aribo might have to wait ( hopefully). Away to Birmingham is a tough game to give a youngster his first start. I wouldn’t expect many of the new guys to start, but we should see most of them off the bench.

Who do you think will play at centre half alongside Nelson?
