Not sure how much a striker from either two would be an improvement on Hutchinson or Otchere as they’re already quite prolific at youth level.

Whats the point in loaning a striker from their academy? As we saw with Mukasa (i know not a striker), it just gets in the way of other players. We have enough academy players. If we bring players in they need to bring experience and make the squad better. 2

My thinking on the loaning from the big Clubs is it's cost effective plus they have plenty of good players just looking for an opportunity to get playing. Bringing in older players is great if it works and they score lots of Goals. But they can also intimdate the young players and put them in their place. When what we want is for them to blossom and express themselves. We should be able to find a young player who is on the way up. A bit like how we found Vardy.

Were they both at Southampton at the same time? Edited 19 July by FoxinNotts

Given that we're financially strapped at this level a loan would suit us nicely. There's some great young lads at Utd and Man City that would help us out this season. Just imagine bringing in someone like Ayew to play with young players. He'd intimidate them. But a good young prospect could be a blessing and who knows they may want to sign for us next season.

Nothing wrong with that either, It's just at the level we are at now and trying to build a new team keeping them all similar can breed harmony anongst the squad. Instead of someone intimidating them. But equally the right senior player could be a great influence to them also. I'm thinking of Huth as one example or even O Neill though he was the Manager. Maybe Russell can bring that experience to them, time will tell and we'll know soon. I just hope he's learned that you have to mix it up. There's no one system that works every time. You have to mix it up at times if only to confuse the opposition.

moore_94 Posted 19 July Posted 19 July Some of these strikers probably already mentioned or probably out of our price range or wouldn't be interested but oh well: Daniel Karlsbakk (23) - Sarpsborg 08 - Norway Top Division 2025 - 18 goals and 1 assist in 28 games 2026 so far - 4 goals in 13 games Andy Tod (20) - Dunfermline Athletic - Scottish Championship 2025/26 - 13 goals and 3 assists in 32 games Marcos Fernández (23) - Espanyol (on loan at Cueta last season - La Liga 2) 2025/26 - 14 goals and 2 assists in 35 games Then there is also some 23 year old twins who are both strikers who both did well in Serie B last season: Stiven Shpendi - Empoli 25/26 - 15 goals and 2 assists in 35 games 24/25 - 4 goals and 2 assists in 25 games Cristian Shpendi - Cesena 25/26 - 12 goals and 5 assists in 37 games 24/25 - 13 goals and 1 assist in 34 games
Molson Canadian Posted 19 July Posted 19 July https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Promise_David I think we could have gotten him while we were in the Championship, a stretch for league 1. Too bad https://youtube.com/shorts/HWDsJtmaGuQ?si=gzsV2TNGG5Iy0J2l big strong agile striker

Profile to suit English football too. Supposed to want around £4m, think Stoke had a £3m bid rejected.
