Whenever someone says that we’ve had a “good window”, it really winds me up when you look at the obvious squad imbalance and our incomings. This has gone on for ages. We sold KDH and needed a like for like CM yet ended up with Skipp, Reid, Ayew and Okoli. This summer, we need a striker (or two minimum) yet we sign 5 wingers/AM that all are lightweight and offer similar traits, aka none will run past a player yet we sold our best winger in Abdul who could do that in spades. 1

Decent signings clearly but we’re desperate for ball playing defenders and another striker, it beggars belief that those wingers have to put up with BDR in the box. We know the club love handing their managers without the tools to undertake the job they were brought in for. Our only saving grace is the amount of time we have in the window left and the likely scenario we get rid of 3 from the swamp.

If that back 5 (including GK excluding JJ) play many more games together we've got absolutely fcking no chance of doing anything. I doubt we have the funds to do a full defensive rebuild though
Dan Posted 19 August Posted 19 August Worryingly I still think a midfielder on top of what I already think (which is 2, maybe 3 centre halves and another striker). A want rather than a need is a left back to rotate with McFarlane. Knowing us we will go and sign another right back despite that being probably our 2nd best covered position behind attacking midfield.
