Found a cracking story about Rowett and hopefully he'll have a field day with us. 

 

He had a squad that he didn't feel had togetherness and had a few "divas". Squad was playing Hamburg in a friendly. They didn't play very well in the game and the star diva lived in Hamburg and asked if he could stay to be with his family.

 

Rowett refused and made him fly back.

 

Diva player asked the chairman on the tarmac to override Rowett's decision but Gary wouldn't back down on his decision so player flew back to the UK.!

 

Apparently when they got back that was then their free time so the player had to get back on the return flight he had just arrived on to go back to his family in Hamburg 😂

Could be negative and say this is just another copy and paste and nothing will change with the players * any new manager has.

 

Another manager who was sacked by a club not much better than us ( Read Marti ala QPR).

 

Is he known to rock the boat and rock the boardroom ? Because that's what we need?

 

Will he have said " Yes Jon, Yes Top" to get the short term gig where hes not really going to put his reputation on the line as we are fecked anyway.

 

Does ANYONE really have ANY faith in this board appointing any manager worthwhile?

I don't actually hate the appointment of Gary Rowett given where we are. However, taking more than three weeks and wasting three vital league games to appoint a manage who could have been appointed within three days is obscene, but sadly believable levels of incompetence.

We have enough individual talent in the team to score goals in most games we play (we’ve scored a lot more than most teams around us). Our glaring weakness has been our lack of defensive structure, which has turned us into a mentally fragile team when put under any kind of pressure. Rowett’s speciality is defensive structure and organisation. If he manages to instil some of that, the team’s confidence will improve and we’ll start winning games.

 

This appointment will give us a fighting chance of staying up. And in the circumstances that’s about as much as we could realistically hoped for.

Considering the state we are in, the way in which we are run and the attitude of our players, I think Gary Rowett deserves our full backing just for having the decency to try and do something about our situation 💪👍

First time he pulls a stunt like that with us, give him a new five year deal no matter where we are in the league.

He kept them up the first season. Its Oxford on the smallest budget in the league. They are going to struggle every year

How idling part of the problem? He was put in place to be a bridge between the academy and the First team. Whilst picking up coaching duties. He’s been ****ed over by the club.
